I purchased the 15mm front and 20mm rear spacers.

The thread pitch size is 14x1.5

RG sport told me I needed 43mm and 50mm locks respectively.

I didn't want 2 sets of locks with 2 different keys, so I decided to "split" the difference, and order a set of 47mm locks. I really don't think 3mm in either direction is going to render the car "unsafe" by any means. I don't have the car yet, but I don't expect any issues.

Specifically, these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/4Pc-Black-1...72.m2749.l2649

Yea... not super "high-end".... but if someone wants your shit bad enough.... they are going to get it. These will serve as a "detractor" to the common petty thieves. Otherwise, that's what insurance is for.
Mercedes Benz, Audi, VW uses different style of lug bolts. I believe it is ball seat, instead of conical seat.
So, that lug bolts won't work.

Actually, the seat on those locks are the same as the ones you sent me..... but the thread pitch was the wrong size.

So.... I just ordered another set of locks from Turner Motorsports in the correct thread pitch

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but anyone else find the 'bowl' on the OEM bolts much bigger than that on the longer replacement bolts?

The OEM locking wheel nut has a standard sized 'bowl', it was just the 4 non-locking bolts that were different.

Based on the longer bolts being the same seat as the locking wheel bolts, I'm assuming there is no issue with the bowl being lager?

That is the new lug bolts that BMW been using.
It is a spacer style cone seat.

Porsche has been using that style for the longest time.

AFAIK, they are the same diameter, just seems bigger because the new lug bolts have a flange. But the tapered degree are the same.

The spacer style design is supposed to be easier to torque.
So, just one time torquing instead of re-torquing again after a few miles of driving.

Thanks for clarifying. Yes the degree of taper was the same, just that OE ones had a larger flange as you say.

Just wanted to check there's no problem replacing with normal bolts (I was using the ones from G30 spacers).

+1 - I am also wanting to order the 15mm/20mm (if possible at 20mm for the rears - I like them sticking out just a tad bit from the fender) or maybe a 15mm/15mm square setup but I want to see if someone has them installed on 20" 740 OEM wheels.

Hi Guys

I do not want to start a new thread, so i think its appropriated to post here.
Im just looking to install some spacers but here in switzerland its not easy as i thought.

We need a Gutachten paper, this is an certification that at the moment only one company has this certification, H&R or eibach or other else doesnt have.

The problem is that they want only for the bolts 300usd and i think its very very overpriced.

I was looking for some bolts and i think for the BMW x5 and X7 and newer models they only approved the Bolts with movable cone seat. Is this true?

Can i use normal bolts or do i need this movable cone seat bolts?

dimentions im looking for are m14x1.25x40 and m14x1.25x43

No, you can use the F15 X5 bolts.
BMW still use the fixed cone on their locking lug bolts. So the washer cone is not necessary.

In fact, my dealer service tech is working with BMW to replace all my 2 piece stock bolts with 1 piece cone bolts. One of my stock 2 piece bolts got jammed in the wheel and could not be removed without extensive "encouragement". My dealer service (a phenomenal group) are not happy with the 2 piece bolts. Reminds me that I need to get a status update on that action ...

Yea, I almost drop the wheel a few times because last bolt stuck to the wheel instead of coming off.
I am not even sure how long will the aluminum washer last with the way some dealership's techs just torque the hell out of lug bolts.

So if the Original bolts are M14x1.25x27mm

for 12mm Spacers in the front the correct bolts are M14x1.25x39mm
for 16mm (other brand, because there is no approvel in Switzerland for H&R in 15mm) Spacers in the rear the correct bolts are M14x1.25x43mm

Ben is really H&R delivering the 12mm and 15mm spacers with 43mm bolts?

Do we need an wheel alignment after applying the spacers?

Did you guys know about this recall????

For 11-15mm, H&R recommended 43mm shank.

H&R lug bolts sold separately.

No alignment needed after wheel spacer.
