Do these prices include all taxes etc.? If so, the prices are sooo much lower than here in Northern Europe

In Canada we need to pay about 13% sales tax on top. And discount on MSRP is pretty slim. No tax credits either.

In Quebec, it's about 15%

Still real cheap, IMHO - with the 13% sales tax a base 45e costs you 91417 CAD which is about 58500 eur. Here the base 45e costs 86900 eur.

Intentional price gauging aside there are many factors involved though. One factor is that it is being shipped from States. Does BMW pay import taxes/duties there? Does it need to comply many laws and regulations in your country? Do you get any tax credits, incentives, rebate there?

Another reason might be X5s are assembled in States and Canada has reciprocal free trade agreement (formerly NAFTA). Canadian sales volume isn't much and competition is somewhat healthy here (not as good as States however).

I'm not saying it's BMW's fault (although I don't think the taxes/duties are the only ones to blame). Just complaining. ;-) We pay car tax (for 45e, around 3% because of low emissions) and VAT (24%), at least. The same problem with German made cars.. No tax credits, incentives or rebate.

(In Norway, the base 45e seems to go for 83600 eur.. Norway is not part of the European Catastr.. I mean, Union.)
