I may be "moronic", but a least I have a REAL M car. I don't have to fake anything.

In all seriousness, good for you if you discovered how silly it is to put M badging on a non M car.

Fake, M badged vehicles are self defined. You can't expect to convince purists to admire fake

Lexx seems to get lit up rather easily as if its strange that anyone wouldn't admire fake badging

I ordered these, much pricier than the ridiculous AMG style Amazon covers, but half the price of the Shadowline tips and without the hassle of dismounting the bumper.

I’ll tell you in a few days when they arrive , I guess they stick to the chrome trim as well.

From M Performance catalog:
• Independent from the muffler system, this product comes as a 2-part set (left & right).
• This accessory is bumper mounted freeform.
• Optical differentiation of the G05/G06 B58 (US) exhaust system.
• Includes the M Performance lettering 3.0.

Meh, not a fan of those. I still prefer the Amazon ones. These looks like the stock shadowline trim pieces that already came on my car - or maybe I'm missing something?

I do agree that the Amazon ones look out of a place on an I6 with the single tip on each side.

BTW, they are even cheaper here.

I will probably get hammered for this but seriously don't care. Why spend money on something like this. I just masked off the complete area and painted them with black Plastic Dip paint. They look good, don't shine and if they get a chip or what ever the touch up is real simple. I guarantee you not one person at the Car meets I go to is going to crawl under there and say anything about it.

Because that requires effort and time? I agree though - the end result is similar

What exactly are you referring to? Some of us already have the shadowline trim but don't like the large single exhaust tip with the two quad pipes visible underneath. IMO it makes it look very cheap and "unfinished." For me, that's the only reason why I went with the this piece.

My reference was to why buy a painted piece when you can obtain the same results by painting it yourself. If you didn't like the ones BMW put on then that is a different reason for buying them.

I agree that BMW went the cheap way without putting tips on the exhaust. I will be adding the tips here shortly. just trying to decide which ones to go with. the thread that has this mod shows a few options. still doing my homework on that.

Oh yeah, but keep in mind that you can get these for under $30. A can of plasti dip costs between $5 and $10. I guess the question becomes, is masking off the bumper and doing it yourself worth $20.

I just ordered these tip finishers off of Amazon. I'll post a pic when they go on. I debated going the plastidip method, but I don't want to have to deal with potential touch ups. I haven't used plastidip before. From what I have read, the paint is matte unless a glosser is sprayed on after.

I also Lol'd at the guy who bashed the M badge multiple times by accident. Too funny

i think they look great, especially if you've had them for a bit and they withstand the heat. I've wrapped mine with tape and they look pretty good.

P.S. love what you did there with the rear bmw logo

here's a pic of mine:

The quad exhaust tips look weird. I decided to mask and paint the existing exhaust tips.
