All I have to say is the finish is like nothing I have ever see in an exhaust. This is my first Akrapovic. It is so light and beautiful I might feel bad about turning the car on after installation. I will send you a few pics when I get the slip-on tomorrow.

Shoutout to r33_RGSport for getting me hooked up in record time. I would probably be still waiting for Gthaus a year from now to get my exhaust
Thank you for the shoutout.

For those getting at least the slip-on, make sure that you start the sound controller kit regardless if you have the Competition series with the on and off exhaust button. I was under the impression that you would not need that with the competition model as it is either open or closed valve system. However, talked to Akrapovic today and they mentioned that the stock exhaust, even when in the loudest setting, will gradually shut depending on pedal input. The sound controller appears to do the same as the Racechip by getting the input from the ECU and sending a different output to the valves.

In short, you should install the sound controller that comes with the slip-on regardless of model, year or trim. I am going to try to install this weekend if I have time. I will take some videos and decibel readings.

This is a great share!!! I too was under the impression I'll just hit my button on the console and won't need any sort of remote. But this clears up why they produced it. Thanks

However, that doesn't mean you need to buy the wireless button they sell for about $500. The button you have in the Competition is still operable. The module will just ensure that stays in aggressive mode most of the time and stays shut most of the time on quiet mode. This all now makes sense because even in aggressive mode with the stock competition exhaust it still sounds a bit quiet under certain loads. I just didn't want to do the extra 1.5 hours of electrical wiring. But I gotta give it to Akrapovic, as A former engineering product support who often produced tech manuals at John Deere and currently work as a Master Black Belt in Continuous Improvement, I can say that their instructions are flawless and easy to follow (pictures, number of steps, in-depth descriptive explanation). Also, I got an actual call from the Akrapovic sales Support Agent within 2 hours of sending my question and spent about 20 minutes explaining the why of the system. I guess r33_RGSport has an identical twin. Great customer service 😁

Finally got mine after many months! With any luck she goes under the knife tomorrow.

- Full evolution system
- Gloss diffuser
- Sound kit

I have one of their systems on another car and it's amazing seeing the evolution of the wireless valve system. For example, the old system is mechanical and operates using vacuum. The new system on the F95 is electrical and seems to intercept CAN signals using a sniffer to override the valves. Amazing. Great to see that the quality is still there!

Install day. Extremely impressed with the fit and finish.

Is it my imagination, or does the optional sound kit make it even louder? I thought it wasn't necessary if you had the valve button… I'll admit, I haven't read the manual on this one yet.

It sounds considerably louder than stock. I'll be grabbing some downpipes once there's a tuning solution…

Did you notice that the factory pipe's upper part on the driver side is cringed (flattened a bit to fit without touching the heat shield)??? The part facing the bottom of the car for the part I circled.

Interesting. I haven't picked up the oem exhaust yet, so I don't have it on me to closely examine. Is it a case where they flatten on one axis and widen another, like in the rear to fit under the chassis support bars?

I was under the impression that these exhausts replaced the secondary cats, but from looking at the manual it doesn't seem like it? They even tell you that you need a tuning solution because the cats are removed (which obviously in our case, we have unmonitored secondaries, so not necessary).

Are they wrong and the secondary cats are still in place and all we've removed are the resonators?

Look at the package you bought. You can buy the mid pipe (which replaces the OEM resonator), and then the slip-on (muffler). If you only had those two parts then you still have all 4 cats.

Right, that's why I'm posting this - I've seen people talk about replacing their secondary cats when buying this exhaust, and I even see mention of this in the manual —- but there's nothing you can buy from Akra that actually does this? (From what I can see..)

Akrapovic full cat-back doesn't remove the secondary cat.
Their note on remapping is for cars that have OPF.
Non OPF cars, not need to remap.

Secondary cat is mounted behind the engine and top of transmission.

That's what I thought. I was actually looking at a schematic that you posted where it highlights the second cats.

What are people doing to replace the second cats? Do you just buy catted/catless downpipes and they do away with the second set of cats as well? Or are there drop in options specifically for the secondaries?
