Just want to hear the sounds, I know the power gains don't really mean much, but everything helps? Planning to do tune,intake, downpipe...

I was talking to a local tuner shop here in PHX this weekend and the topic came up. He told me the BMW stock air flow systems are really great but would benefit from a replacement filter element.... So he told me not to waste my money on new tubes that go in the same place as OEM lol... But curious myself what the aftermarket world will produce!

I would never use any of those so called performance intake filters (K&N, etc.) that provide more performance since all they do is let in more dust and dirt, which of course hurts the longevity of the engine. They might give a couple more horsepower, but its not worth the damage they cause.
It's been proven in test fleets of taxi cabs and trucking companies.

But hey, its your vehicle.

never had any issues with aftermarket intakes... also never held a car past 60K miles so not sure what kind of effects happen to the engines long term.

I have put K&N in previous vehicles and the biggest difference I have noticed is the change in the engine sound. It gives it a much deeper louder bellow from under the hood.

Anyone in the SC area? Just spoke to George at MSR and he is interested to look at our platform for an intake design. He makes the cold air intake where the filters are up in the grill area and piped thru. Seems like a quality product and shows good performance gains.

MStreetracing on Instagram if you want to check his stuff out. I know a few guys on the F90 forum have his products as well as the M8 guys.

Might be our only Option at the moment for aftermarket intake.

BMC just released a drop-in filter. Outside of that I haven't seen anything yet. I suspect Dinan or RK will have sets soon but only speculating.
