The system looks and sounds great!

Is there any cutting needed or does the new mid-section simply slip-on/clam-on to the factor secondary cat pipe?

I also would like to know the answer to this question

Looking at the Akra site it states the slip on exhaust requires cutting of the stock. But when comparing the Akra to the stock exhaust they look pretty similar in terms of where they bolt to the center muffler, just after the hangers, so IDK.

Go to the Akrapovic website and look at the instructions. It tells you everything that needs to be done. The instructions are amazing. Only slip-on needs cutting. The cat-back system is a bolt-on. I will be cutting it regardless due to limited storage and because I am doing the install alone and the whole system is heavy.

If you install the two parts (slip on + link pipe) no need for cutting. If you install slip on you need to cut

Thanks, I see it now, page 15. Wondering if that cutting line is in a spot where you could easily re-clamp the stock back in if you want to swap. Made the mistake with the Eisenmann in how the stock was cut off which made it impossible to swap back without buying a new factory muffler. Would prefer to not make a $2,500 mistake again on the F95.

If you are putting the slipon, that is the only place to cut since you have to slide pipes in and put the clamp. If you are going with cat-back and have the space, I would not cut. I don't have space, so I will make 3 straight lines across the pipe to use for alignment i when I sell the car and want to return it to stock. That way welding the pipe is easy as you can align and weld on the floor versus having to do it while mounted. There might be a better way, but so far, that s what I'll do.

I am curious if there are any aspects that you arent thrilled about with the exhaust system and the sound?

Any feedback on the sound, pitch, loudness, etc would be great as I am trying to figure out if I do this exhaust or wait for the dinan to come out.

Thx,

Nick

I installed the slip on and link pipe, the sound kit is integrated to the car valve button.

The sound is amazing and loud, you can hear the turbo spools. The cold start is another story 🔥

Nice GZ

I have the slip-on line last week installed. I like it. Its louder, deeper and nicer sound.

Have been interrested in evolution also but after consultation with bmw and akra I didnt go for it.

I would lose guarantee here in europe and also after any softupdate the car would go in "safe mode" because of lost opf + need service solution.

After the installation in service they told me that last week akrapovic removed the evolution pipe set from offer.
If its for temporary time or forever I dont know but they solving some issues because of removing opf. They didnt tell me exactly why only that Opf does big pressure in exhaust.

With slip on no issues, guarantee stays but result is not that big as with the evolituion of course.

I am also attaching pics + pic of the old exhaust part to see how much they remove in case "slip on only" option + sound kit ofc, its must have because if its without soundkit the car will control valves in modes, problem is it sometimes closes valves when you push gas pedal or so the sound kit keeps it opened in anycase anymode.

Btw Will post video when I will make it

Awesome! Cool pictures. Hope you are enjoying it as much as I am. 😁. Just for clarification for others, the sound kit comes with the muffler. The wireless button you show in your pictures is not needed (at least with competition mode) and costs extra. The valves will stay open or shut with the oem dash button. At least that has been my experience for 5 days with the exhaust installed.

I got a quote for the Akra exhaust, link pipe and sound kit.

Quote for parts is $9,954.65 and labor is $979.93.

Is this a competitive price?

Labor is a bit high since they don't need to do any cutting its all bolt on and wiring. My shop was 700 for labor just slip on and lowered it to 564 with mid pipe due to no need to cut. (they would remove stock mid pipe, cut it put it back on and then put slipon on). Hope that helps.

You should contact Ben at RGSport.

Agreed labor is way high for an exhaust.
