That's awesome to hear!

Have you coded back auto lane change/highway exit assist to see if they improved that?

I've had it enabled with 11/2020.45 but it's a far cry from other auto lane change assist technologies out there. It'd be awesome if it was dynamic based on traffic conditions. It seems to just suggest carpool lane when available and start exiting when your exit is approaching. Certainly not based on traffic conditions.

Updated mine to 3/2021.525 and still TLA not activated on Aussie cars. Wish there was an option to change the bitmask.

Jeet, Yeah didn't think it would work. The default landmask for UCC haven't changed. Briefly checked the ampeln conditions and looked like most regions still off by default.

I don't think this would work well in oz as it stands anyway. Even in the U.K. there is 1 type of rare light it's 'blind' to. If they arent develop and testing in OZ yet, or aren't that far along, then that's probably why the software is blocking and not the coding.

The ucc landmasks are where it is controlled in coding btw. I can turn regions on and off, and even have it auto accept a light or not, using those 2 masks.

Hi ifr,

If you are comfortable please can you kindly share how can I change the landmasks/enable my region? I really want to try the UCC.

Thanks

It's just these, which you must have already tried.

Your only options at this stage are to petition BMW or move to the EU

It'll come eventually, unless there is some hard regulatory block.

There was talk of there being a blocking file for earlier model AUSY BMW cars, which was located on the internal HDD/SDD. I've not looked into it, and it does seem unlikely to be the issue here considering BMW have a simple way of blocking/unblocking regions using the landmasks, which seems to be the strategy.

There is one other extremely unlikely possibility. They may have changed the way the bitmasks work for TLA/UCC and all Binary 1 for the mask may not allow all features and regions. It's different to how they do aSLA for example, but a 1 in the wrong place may actually disable the function for AUSY.

Issue is we don't have a key to determine what bit pattern maps to which feature/region. All we know is that the default for the SAS3 models is:
00001000 00000000 00000000 00000000

Changing this to
11111111 11111111 11111111 11111111 unlocks TLA for most regions

21-03-530 is becoming available - seems that pretty much every file in the MGU is updated compared to 520/525, so changes incoming.

If you are considering D/L 525, wait till later this week

Yeah I've noticed an issue in 525 that I'm hoping 530 fixes.

Lights are buzzing as I approach the car/unlock and stay buzzing until start. Like it sometimes does when arriving at a destination after engine off

That's an odd one! Seems the only ECU to be updated though - black across the board apart from the MGU, which gets a new bootloader & SW. I did a TAL Calc with the lite data this morning, so I knew whether or not it would be worth getting the full when it lands shortly !

Pretty much any SP18 (and SP15 for that matter) car shares ECUs with each other, there's very little difference between them, other than the Encoding configurations.

And I wouldn't expect a huge amount of ecus to change in a few days, i've seen this before where you get a lot of ECUs change from say YY-11 to YY-03, but that YY-03-5xx to YY-03-5yy, eacgh one addresses changes to targetted ECUs

It came with 11.2020 ota update
just to clarify, the Alexa feature inside the vehicle is not available in US models even with version 11/2020, though you can use the Amazon Alexa phone app and Echo home devices to precondition, ask what the fuel level is, etc.

Updated! But nervy though as for the first time I got a HTTP error, so it fell back to UDS ( I use esys). Thankfully though, it only took 40 minutes to flash, instead of the usually 15, but a darn sight Better than the 4 hours the old EVO did.

The Imprints were identical pre and post install btw, so obviously just a bug fix release.

What’s I-step? How does one acquire it? Does one need this update? What would a dealer roughly be charging to do it?
