My day it was mostly old rusty Cutlasses, Monte Carlos, Malibus and various trucks.

I would’ve killed to have a car as cool as the new R in High School.

So when I was in high school my friends and I all had pretty sweet cars, Chevelle's, Camaro Z28's, Boss 302 Mustangs, etc. I had a buddy who had a 68 Courgar with a 428SCJ, what a beast.

This is not bad but the new Audi RS3 Sportback will be the real stunner. Just hope it make its way to US.

An RS3 is $15k+ more than a Golf R without options, an S3 is the mechanical twin of the R and more comparable. As for an RS3 Sportback in the US, I'd remain doubtful.

0.0% chance we get an RS3 that isn't a sedan.

I am not 100% sold on this one. I love the Golf but some of their designs have gone a little cray cray. LOL. This one will probably grow on me though. My buddy has the previous gen with a little over 400 HP! Its such a little rocket and full on sleeper to regular people.

I am still an MK2 Golf fan though...I think that is one of their best looking designs

They are into older 3 series BMW's, G35 coupes & 350 Z's due to them being cheap & RWD! With all the "drifters" on line they can drive like idiots and post videos for likes

I would wait for the MK8.5 as they will improve on the exterior styling and the interior much like they did with the MK7.5.

Based on early iD4 reviews it seems VW's new infotainment system is a large step back from the MK7's and incredibly distracting. No physical controls, touch sensitive sliders for HVAC and Volume, and tons of lag. Now's the best time to get a MK7.5 in my opinion.

Starting MSRP of ~$42,000 for a hatchback that does 0-60mph in 4.7 seconds. I'm sorry but I'm not seeing the value here. I see $40k doesn't get you much these days. Wild

The VW figures are very conservative. It's hitting 0-60 in under 4 seconds and the 12.4 second 1/4 mile indicates more power than advertised. The reality is that it's a performance bargain as its numbers put it in the same territory as the AMG CLA45 which can be optioned up to almost $80k.

So does it do 0-60 in under 4 seconds or no? Which is it?
