This is probably true at one point or another.

Took my lady to lunch at one of our favorite restaurants that happens to be at our county airport. The car a couple of car lengths in front of me apparently missed the left turn into the airport parking lot, so stopped and proceeded to back up. She kept coming back, so I laid on the horn. I mean, I held the hammer down and the driver kept backing up, finally stopping about 12 inches from my car.

What a flaming idiot. Ignores the horn. Doesn't use the rear-view mirrors. Car was a white VW... Passat, I think.

Could they have been using reverse assist of some kind? I sometimes have drivers panic at me when im reversing towards them using my e90 PDC beeping

I have no way of knowing. But PDC or not, you'd think the driver would consider that the car behind them was well after the turnoff they were looking for. It simply wouldn't work.

Your experience reminds me of a few similar moments.

I took a cab home from SFO one night via I-80 East. That was the right way to go, so we were off to an excellent start to the 20-minute journey.

Then it got ugly. We passed the 7th Street/Hall of Justice exit, and less than 100 yards later the driver stopped the car and started to back up. He thought he'd missed our exit. Wrong!

This was on a tight curve on a freeway where the typical driver would be going 50-60 mph. I looked back in stark terror and started screaming "Go forward! Go, go, GO!!!" while waving a hand. To his credit, the driver got it and quickly reversed course. It was only because it was late at night that something very unpleasant didn't happen to us or to another vehicle.

They like to go bat shit crazy when they miss an exit around here. They will cut through 5 lanes of traffic without looking to get to their exit. Like you know there's another exit 2 miles away right? Apparently getting out 2 miles away and coming back around is such a horrific thought that it's worth risking their life and others to avoid that.

They also love weaving in and out of traffic like total morons when traffic is backed up. Don't get me wrong, I'm the first to blast out of what I call the islands of stupidity, but I only do so when I know it's clear ahead. WTF is the point of weaving in and out when you are not going anywhere. I just chill in my lane and wave as I pass them 2 min later.

I had Prius as a rental once, had no other choice that day. One day, after going down from Lake Arrowhead to the valley, I ended up with 72 mpg on the dashboard. Pretty sure I did not save the planet that day anyway.
And last week I have experienced Left Lane Prius on my way down I95 to Baltimore. Two lanes on the right were available and I was in the right one @85mph.

Challengers and Chargers. They have been watching too many of the Dodge commercials of Hellcats doing burning outs and donuts. Especially the V6 ones.

We certainly have a Charger/Challenger problem here in Houston.

They come in many colors but they all have cut out exhaust, blacked out windows, duck bill spoilers, wide body kits, vortex generators, diffusers and blue, green or white angel eyes.

I am amazed no one mentioned the middle aged woman in a crossover.

I'm tired by them. No one else in the road drives as bad, including Altima drivers.

Tiguans are the worst offenders, with RAV4s a close second.

We have the same kind of AID's here in Phoenix. Everywhere. They also think they are very fast. Some can be, but most are not.

Was waiting for this post. Altimas and Challengers and Chargers probably reign supreme for aholiness. Followed by ricey civics, then stingers and kias. Also the Veloster is up there too, and of course the infiniti's lol!

I thought central Florida had a "brodozer" problem as well?

^Only if gas is cheap or we are in the midst of a certain kind of election cycle. Generally speaking I tend to align with the way the brodozers drive, I wouldn't mind owning a decent size truck if I'm being completely honest, just wouldn't want it as a daily.

In fact my neighbor just sold his lifted white Ford 4x4 with exhaust for a Nissan frontier.
