is the x5 m60i the new equivalent to the old m550i?
Hi everyone , since m550i is not being produced anymore , it seems to me the x5 m60i is it’s closest equivalent. I know the weight difference is almost 1000 lbs but can anyone who had m550i without adaptive and now has the x5 m60i with the adaptive professional comment on handling difference and steering between the two vehicles ?
I cannot find any m60i on dealer lots with the m adaptive professional option to test drive. |

One is a Sedan and the other an SUV, they will be different rides. Here is a thread talking about the M550i and the M50i.

Very true. Sadly there just aren't new AWD V8 sedans. Emissions regulations and fuel economy standards have ruined them.
For all intents and purposes, the automakers have shifted sports sedans into sports SUVs, because of regulations. X5 M60i, SQ7, GLE580, all of these offer V8s because regulations for SUVs are different than for cars and so they can do it. We (as a developed world) keep voting for people who want to take things away from us in the name of a greater good, then rely on places to do our dirty work that don't WAY dirtier than we would. All in the name of "going green". |
