It's very normal for a car to be "en route" for more than 2 weeks. I think that's actually the minimum for the east coast and the west coast is 3+ weeks. Did you try calling 1-800-831-1117? That will tell you much more than the website. There is also a sticky thread in this section that will walk you through tracking your ship and car.
You need to relax. It's not like the dealership told them to take their time getting you the car and I doubt they have it and are hiding it in the back lot from you. Dealers are busier than you are so expect that things come up and they are delayed in calling you back. That's just life. You're a 20 year old complaining that their $50K car is taking to long to come from Germany. We should all have such problems...

I can't answer for the dealer but I know you'd command much more respect around here if you learn to spell and type in actual words.
Additionally, the dealer does not want your car to sit on their lot any longer than it has to so it's in their best interest to let you know the second it arrives. Prior to arrival on US shores, they have absolutely zero control over the delivery date. The car simply gets there when it gets there.

If this is how you speak to your dealer then I'm not surprised that they don't call you back. Plus, we have an entry level BMW.....they'll laugh at you if you expect some pull for buying a 1 Series. A 5er, or 7 Series would be a different story. Kind of ironic that they're now waiting on you to bring your trade in.

Honestly you're just coming off as an impatient child..
I bought my car when I was 19 and I conducted myself in a much more respectable manner to make up for the young age. You're just playing into the stereotype of the impatient needy kid who wants his new toy. They don't care that you can afford a BMW at your age, as they'll automatically assume it's your parents money. So the whole 50k price tag is kinda out the window when you consider you're buying the lowest model series they offer.. There is NOTHING you can do at this point to speed up the process of delivery. Just wait for the car and be happy when it gets there, that's all there is to it. It's not like it's just going to vanish of the face of the earth..

Dealing with a busy dealership while you're waiting for an overdue car is damned tough. Hopefully, you'll get some relief soon.
I don't own an BMW unless we're counting MINIs, but the website took forever to update when tracking its progress. We had a phone number to call, and they could give you more up to date info. Is there a similar service for BMW Owners-in-Waiting? If so, it might be worth a shot. Rawhyde |

You paid $50k and it isn't even an M3?!
I'd be more worried about that then when my actual car was going to be delivered to me.

You need that much time to clean out a mini? How filthy could it be that you couldn't clean it out and give it a quick wash in like 2 hours top?
At 20yrs old, I would have been at the dealership in hours. Like someone else said, if this is your biggest problem at 20yrs old, then you got it easy. And out of curiosity, how does a 20yr old accumulate 50k? No offense, but I'm amazed by that alone. I do however disagree with the idea that you command more respect from the dealership if you get a 5 or a 7. I know people who drive 5's that have a lower sticker than some 1's. If they take your business, the same level of respect should be given. I don't care if its a stripped down 128 or a M6.

I ordered mine in June and was told 6 weeks. I have been waiting a long time also but I do know that the plant was closed for a short while. My car is now sat on the dock waiting to ship.
BMW have given me a mini cooper as a loaner which is nice of them and my car will arrive when it arrives. Your dealer has no control over manufacturing, they are a dealer. Sit back and relax and it will arrive when it arrives. |

You are 20. If you want to live to you are 40 you are going to have to learn to deal with disappointment. One of the hardest lessons of life, is to listen to people when they tell you stuff, and to be able to filter out when they are telling you the truth, or when they are telling you what they think you want to hear to get rid of you. So - ask learn to ask probing questions. If they say "it is going to be white" - then ask "shiny white or matte white"? If they say - "It will be fixed tomorrow" - then ask "What time, tomorrow".
By creating dialogue, the person to whom you are conversing will eventually confess that they really have no clue, and that their information is lacking in one way or another. Use this technique every time you deal with someone who is selling you any goods or service. Never take what they are saying at face value. Alsways assume that they are lying, either a lot or a little. Either deliberately or ignorantly. As you practice this technicque, it will become second nature, and you will save yourself lots of disappointments in life, and probably prevent a heart attack or a stroke before you are 40 yrs. old. My original converstaions with the BMW dealer in my area told me that my car would be here in December. I knew he was lying, so I didn't set my expectaions for December. I got my car in March, but because I hadn't set myself up for disappointment I was very happy when I received it. |

Wow! What an issue to have! I ordered my car in March 08. It was supposed to be Year One of the One with delivery in summer 08. Guess what? My car is 09 Year One of the One (9/08 build). Yes, I was getting impatient also but its just the part of the process when you get your car built to order. I finally took delivery on 10/31/08. And by the way, the online tracking tool still says this: At preparation center. Get a grip and show some maturity. You will be happy when it arrives.

A 20 yr old with a 135....huh....must be nice. I think you are failing to realize how lucky you really are. Consider yourself blessed because some of us gradute from high school then go to college and find a job. Then we work and work and work and then find a way to make a 40k plus car fit into our budget. Anyways have fun with the car.
