Finally, a thorough X5 M50i review
No affiliation. But I look every day for new reviews. Lots of X5 40i reviews, lots of X7 reviews, lots of X6 reviews.... but to date, there was only one other thorough X5 M50i review, and it wasn't very good.
His tester had the B&W stereo, and he didn't even mention it. I had hoped he would. Otherwise, I think it was an informative (and entertaining) video. Gotta love the way this beast pulls up to Autobahn speeds in no time flat. I'm an American living in Belgium, and my car is US spec.... so I may have to take a little drive over to Germany shortly after taking delivery

AutoTop NL always does pretty decent reviews although I'm convinced he hates BMW's steering weight. In sport it's not overly heavy but in all of his reviews it's something mentioned. That's my only real gripe off hand with their stuff. I like seeing Autobahn runs though especially in the B5/7

I think that's true for pretty much all action cams...

It's a rare review for X5 M50i with Air Suspension. Glad it's not overly floaty. I ordered mine with AS without being able to test drive one.

Good driving review. I do agree with him about aluminum trim. Personal preference of course, but I think it looks like a sea of corrugated metal. Very glad I ordered the fineline wood.

Different circumstances though. I've been to war-torn 3rd world countries with better roads than Belgium. I mean that LITERALLY. I've been to 46 of the 50 states, every major US city, over 30 additional countries including a few in South America And Southeast Asia.... and I've never seen such poor roads anywhere as in Belgium.... ever. So.... my 340i MPPSK was literally giving me headaches driving it. The suspension wasn't that bad at all (it had adaptive suspension)... but here in Belgium? It was unbearable. I ordered my X5 M50i with air suspension, and I even went with 21s instead of 22s. It's very uncharacteristic of me to do that, but it's absolutely imperative where I live. I expect "floatiness".... but I need it here. For my trips to Germany and the Netherlands (where the roads are good)... I'll use sport mode. Last edited by Ninefourteener; 12-28-2019 at 06:38 AM.. |

Just one update...22 inch wheels come with NON RFT tire..so trust me,you can go. Roads in Croatia in big cities are good, highway is execellent, but trust me,you will have zero issues with 22 and AS...however i felt sea disease every time i drove my X5...so im going to switch M professional suspension and 22 non rtf. |

His video makes Arctic Grey look almost like mineral grey metallic. The spec is interesting though. I like the little sliver bits on the front. I don't think those are available in the US along with the no privacy glass option.

Incidentally, I already have a set of 21" Pirelli Scorpions all-season non RFTs sitting in my garage waiting for this thing to arrive, along with a ton of other stuff. |

Thanks for explaining that and for the pictures. Cerium does look nice, a little hint of bronze to it. It looks pretty good with the black window trim. I have yet to see a M50i on the streets in LA.

Ja, can confirm it's available in UK and Germany - remote start isn't available as it's illegal not to be inside your vehicle while it's running. If optioned with air suspension, you can adjust the ride height from the key.
I had it on my M550i with remote control parking option. It was pretty cool early on but I got tired of carrying around since it was so bulky. My other half would say, "Is that a display key in your pocket or are you happy to see me?" :rolls eyes:
