Did it today...
You need the adapter and the app. From the app go to bdc control and then expert mode. After that just follow the above thread |

OP, if you haven't even tried anything yet you can start by reading on the app's quick start guide.
https://www.bimmercode.app/quick-start-guide/ I'd start by coding ASS (Auto Start/Stop) which doesn't require coding in expert mode. If you get to that point you should be at least 90% ready to coding ADV. I'm pretty new to coding myself and with this app I found the process to be simple enough to follow.

BMW included the 4 options as a bundle when retrofitting ADV in the Japanese market, so I included all 4 in the published ADV coding. |

ADV after coding
So far the ADV works great and I only have one profile so haven't noticed anything off. While in ADV, I have noticed that the blind spot indicator lights on the side mirrors act a little funny. They work, but when I am passing someone in ADV, they don't turn on most of the time. However, when a car is passing me, they will come in while in ADV. Not sure if this was the same before coding, but don't think so.

ADV is not bad and I definitely like it (except that it needs my attention diverted to the cockpit to notice who is/what is around me (and praise tech!) and keep looking to it and paying attention to it).
I am a fan of HUD (don't know why TESLAS don't have it?1). It is definitely recommended not only a driver to have it in front of his windshield with the info specific to the driver but also for the passenger seat to have different info displayed there (probably a good idea for BMW?)). I wish if my whole cars's windows had a some kind of HUDs respectively. Back to the point, ADV is great and it should be in a visible area to the whole car to extend this safety concept. |

There are default PIA masks in HU_MGU and SAS that configure what the default driver assistance settings look like. Modify these and each new profile starts with a different set of settings. So not really needed, and I only included them in the original ADV coding for completeness. |
