Our dates are very similar - mine was 12/28 and all else is days apart. Did you receive PCD date yet? I heard today mine is 3/12, which feels a long way away considering it's now in production. Second guessing PCD now if it's going to sit outside for 3 weeks.

We are more or less around the same schedule too. I went into production on 1/31 with a VIN assigned. They say it's week 7. Let's see. Tracking everyday.

Thanks! All my BMWs have been blue (Estoril, Carbon Black, Mediterranean) so the choice was really between Phytonic and Tanzanite. I want a bit more exclusiveness this time (saw quite a few X3 with Phytonic) and thought darker color looks better on a big car, so went with TBII without seeing it in person.

I haven't heard anything about PCD yet. I'm not in a huge hurry as my current lease still has a couple more months left.

MyBMW status just changed to "DISPATCHED FROM FACTORY" today. Haven't heard anything on PCD dates yet.

Great. Mine changed too.
You can call the genius number. They can tell you who your carrier is and their number. The carrier can give you tracking details and date it will be delivered to your dealer.

If your production is complete and elected PCD delivery, your X5 will be held in a delivery lot. The X5 production line is right across the street from the Performance Center, so it doesn't have far to travel. Mine sat in the lot for 3 weeks until scheduled delivery.

Odd that you don't have a date yet, have you contacted your dealer?

I received a confirmation email from BMW Performance Center Delivery 5-6 weeks before scheduled delivery date. The recommend you not make travel plans until 3 weeks prior to your delivery date:

"...This email is to confirm your Performance Center Delivery for production number 1234567 is scheduled for 12/13/2019...

Please do not make any travel arrangements until three weeks prior to your delivery date. Due to production schedules, weather, or other unforeseeable circumstances, your delivery date may need to be changed prior to that three-week window. In the unlikely event we are notified of a delay for your vehicle, we will contact you immediately to arrange a new date..."

Thanks for the detailed explanation! The dealer asked how many will be going for PCD but haven't heard back since. Let me check with them then.

Your SA should've heard back from the PCD team within 24-48 hours, sometimes even same day.

Well I guess there's a good reason that I didn't hear anything... The factory made a mistake and sent the X5 directly to the dealership! The dealer had no clue and one day the truck just showed up!

Unfortunately the dealership is too far from me and they don't want to split shipping cost since it's not their fault. In the end we agree to reorder with the same discount (Feb rates, ~$20/month more than Dec).

It actually works for me since my current lease won't end until May anyways. And I took the chance to make a couple changes to the build.

I'd be slightly suspicious and highly doubt that the factory accidentally sent it to the dealership. But I could be totally off base.

There's coordination with the factory early on in the ordering process and not surprisingly there are many dealers who aren't experienced in the PCD delivery process.

At time of my custom order, the GM and ordering associate who also specializes in PCD delivery provided a print out of the vehicle inquiry/order with delivery notes showing and confirming: Performance Center Delivery. If you had a copy of your order inquiry showing that note then your PCD delivery is locked and loaded.

In the end it worked out for you, since you were able to adjust your order and options.

I had a couple screenshots of the report but my "Delivery Notes" section is blank - maybe that's why. I will make sure to check with them more closely this time. Thanks for the info!

Which broker? I'm probably going to have to go that route as I think I will only get 7-8% off before incentives in Oregon.

What changes did you make if I may ask? I think that I am doing TBII as well but severely struggling with interior or lack of interior color options.

I changed interior back to white. And wheels to 747M (so I have fewer spokes to clean ).

Haha same boat. I have many different builds saved on MyBMW and keep going back and forth on some options (interior color, for instance).

BMW options are not that bad, compared to Porsche. That takes a full time job to figure out...

Would you like an embroidered ashtray holder? Porsche is overkill.

I had five different builds up and decided to take the final leap yesterday.

It's official... PCD cancelled. They are giving away voucher for future performance center visit (which is nice of them). I know it's gonna happen given the timing but still a bit disappointed. Now I have to work with dealer to have the X5 shipped to me.
