okay so I think I know why I like the design...

It looks like a ux200 (which I like), with an Iron Man face

You won't regret it. If there's one BMW to get, the M2 is it.

The main message is, "What's your reason not to change?" Well, I can give you a list, but besides that this commercial fell flat on its face in my opinion. First, it didn't really seem that convincing, I get the message, but the narrator almost felt like a cheap Matthew McConoughey that just keeps mumbling on with different rhetorical questions. The ending with the final message honestly didn't really connect that well with what the narrator was saying or what the ad displayed.

Then we have the use of "hate comments," which only emphasized the fact that BMW is going against what they stood for. And some of the comments were really ironic. "Are you still making cars for normal people?" What? This on an ad for a car that will likely be close to the $70-100k+ range. And when did they stop making cars for normal people? Not like they haven't expanded the range of sedans and SUV's beyond its need with endless variations for the past ten years.

Worst of all, the final comments felt like a slap in the face. The ad showed essentially that BMW sees our comments, from some of their most brand loyal customers who have been with the brand for years crying out "This isn't BMW. Go back to making BMW's," and instead of using that criticism to better themselves, they decide to put it in an ad, and then display their disregard for it. Almost a big FU to the enthusiast.

A quick look at their Twitter showed them trying to respond to the negative comments with "witty" comebacks but their social media game is pathetic. They were quickly overwhelmed and it's a terrible look for BMW. I totally resent them for this tactic and using it in their advertisements is wildly idiotic in my estimation. At this point the next M2 could fly and I will still shop Porsche.

Overall I'm quite disappointed in this vehicle. Even more so because it holds so much promise.

Looks wise, I dig most of it....except the front. Grilles are not needed at all, and they could have been kept to a minimum. This grille language BMW has now is just not good at ALL. I'm sorry BMW, but no matter how many times you try to tell us you're being edgy, it just doesn't work. And while Bangle got the flame surfacing thing mostly right, the bangle butt on the E65 7 STILL looks really terrible, 20 years later. Come on BMW, this just doesn't work.

On to the rest. I really dig the interior. But again, BMW goes and ruins it with that stupid diamond quilted leather. Jesus, BMW, can you stop with that already? It does NOT automatically scream luxury. Everyone's doing it now, it never really looked good in the first place, and this car is supposed to be about setting new design trends. That's one that should have been binned. Otherwise I really like the interior and it seems like they mostly benefitted from the clean sheet design of an EV platform.

Range and performance? Not so good. Man, people love to Rag on Tesla but they really have this EV thing down way better than most. I'll be interested in hearing weight and actual 0-60 times of this thing. But 5 plus seconds with 500 plus HP seems to indicate it's seriously heavy. Which would seem to be why range is low.

Man, my wife's Cayenne is getting long in the tooth, and I already own a Tesla Model 3 Performance. So we're the perfect demographic for this car. But based on the looks....I just can't see myself ordering one. Maybe in person?

Sheesh.

Does this car not have a frunk? I was watching the Supercar Blondie video and she showed off the windshield wiper fluid being housed in the emblem, saying the reason was there was no need for such a large opening.

Sorry to say this, but a Tesla Model Y is nicer looking both inside and out, not to mention range, performance and price. The X3 also looks better to me than this. I would get an X3M over this any day.

Look's like something Ford would design than a BMW, don't think Tesla sales are going to take a hit.

BMW describes it as, "the length of an X5, height of an X6, wheel sizes of an X7."

Great question... I think it's somewhere in between

Are the specs posted yet? I didn't see them

Yeah BMW seems to not want to build a ground up EV platform but rather a shared platform optimized for ICE, PHEV and EV. Guess we'll see whether this was a good or bad idea. Seems strange that they blamed the previous CEO for not being revolutionary enough with EV's and falling behind but they still don't want a full EV platform. This is most likely because they can cut costs through the use of a shared platform.
