Recent owner of a X5 50e with DAP. The option to enable Assisted Driving Plus in the ID8.5 menu is grayed out and gives the following message: “Function no longer available. License Expired. See Owner’s Manual for more information.” I’m logged in with my BMWID. All data sharing options selected. Checked all Connected Drive services are active, including Highway Assistant. Automatic map updates are enabled. All apps up-to-date. Remote Software Upgrade checked as well. BMW Genius helpline was stumped and transferred me to BMW Assist who had me go through the steps I’d already checked and then had me do the 70 second reboot. No dice. They opened a ticket with IT and said I’d hear back within 10 days. Anyone else experience this? Any thoughts on other things to check or try?

There have been a number of folks who have posted that they are getting the message, seems to be a server/data issue on the back end.

Ahhh. Thanks. Will have to wait for the response from IT I guess. Even tried factory reset of data and set up from scratch. Assist Plus roads also are not an option for display on the map. Another telling clue I suppose.

I finally took a long road trip and no dice.

Bummer, I chose the X5 because of the DAP... well that was the initial reasoning, but actually there is so much more to it.

Yes. Back in August there was a software fix issued by BMW to correct this problem in the small subset of vehicles that were affected. Unfortunately, this is not available OTA and the update has to be performed at the dealership. There was no charge for it. On my invoice the description reads "Performed the hands off driving retrofit." My update was accomplished on 23 Aug 2023. Once this software update was accomplished, the feature has worked flawlessly on limited access highways ever since. Hopefully, that update will put you in business for hands-free highway driving. Thanks for the reply. Ofcourse the ny dealers suck and the few who are great are not in the metro area so no one knows how to fix this
