I haven't set any of my 8 preset buttons up and don't really understand the point of them. What have you done with your 8 preset buttons?

Those are the only 2 menus I've found needing quick access too. I'm sure I'll add another one eventually.

My shortcuts won’t save after I leave and return to the car in 8.5

The presets are useful for quickly getting to buried menus or even navigation (if you don't use Carplay/AA). I find it easier to press the Media button above the iDrive controller to get to Carplay/AA, though. TPMS is a good idea.

To add to the above, one of my presets is to turn off the screen (iDrive 7). Usually use it when it's dark (on a highway or not well lid roads) and user heads-up display for navigation, if any.

Press Home button (on the iDrive)
Options button (on iDrive)
Scroll to "Screen off list", and selected it
while it's "selected", press and hold memory button you'd like to assign to it.

Are you logged into the vehicle with your BMW ID? I think that's required for them to save.

Also if you double click media button you get a pop up menu which lets you select various other media options. It’s very handy. I found it by accident.

Yes, very handy. It doesn’t work if your last audio source was Audible though.

You can assign a shortcut to the audio source option screen and then assign a gesture to it, like the two finger thingy.

Thats my go to for changing audio source ...

And if you are like who forgots the short cut assignment the. Just touch the number and it shows what it is assigned for. I thought it’s pretty cool.

you should have its dedicated button on the center console above the drive modes like I do on my 2021, but I also put DR as a widget on page 1 of my Home Screen. in the event of crash, I guess it’s good to have some redundancy for this feature
