MY25 X5 Frozen Grey Order?

Has anyone got the production number confirmed for 2025 X5 M60i Frozen Pure Grey? I see several posts on MY25 orders confirmed with build weeks assigned, but I haven't seen any post with this color. Some local dealers told me the order bank for MY25 hasn't been opened yet and this frozen grey color cannot be ordered now (is that true?)

I think the dealers you are talking to aren't being truthful to you. At least on the order bank part of it. Many of us including myself have ordered 25's and have production numbers. I have seen where the M60i isn't as easy to get as the 40i and allocations for those could be harder to come by.

It maybe time to start calling around to dealers outside of your area or contact a broker to see what they can do for you.

Facts. The dealer I was working with told me they had no allocations, but proceeded to tell me other CA's was able to put in for MY25. So, I just went to BMW USA site, click the "Shopping" link, put in my zip code, click "Shop New" and wanted to see which dealerships in the area had vehicles "In Production" for the 2025 X5 model. I called them up to see if they had any allocations and one dealership did. Gave him my build and within 15 minutes had a PO and a production number.

That's a great way to do it and see what's available. I actually didn't realize that myself to go to the BMW site to see what's in production. Great advice!

Thank you. I called other dealers/brokers today and found out some indeed have the order bank open & may have allocations.

One of them told me if an order is in the order bank then it means it doesn't have an allocation attached to it yet. I know allocation means one should get production number and week of build once an order is made. Not exactly sure how the "order bank" fits into the process.

Thank you for the advice! I tried my zipcode and none of the local dealers have 2025 X5 "in production" on bmwusa. I heard the allocations for M60i might be limited for now.

It will definitely take a little more work most likely for you to find an M60i allocation as it looks like they are limiting those so far early this year. Just have to call around and do the leg work.

As far as the order bank goes. It means they are putting you into a line of people wishing for an allocation. You may be number 1 on that list or number 10. Once an allocation is available they pull someone from the order bank to fill it.

Thanks. Yup I did more research and learned the order bank is basically a waitlist. Just curious - if each dealer has their own order bank, hypothetically can one place orders & join the order bank with multiple dealers at the same time? Before an allocation is assigned, the customer can always choose to cancel the order, right?

Correct! That's what most do. Join several so you have a better, quicker shot at getting one. As well you can't trust dealers because they've been known to skip people in line for many reasons. For instance if they know you want 8% off and another client says I'll pay msrp. The dealer may skip you to take the msrp guy. So in the end get on a few if your willing and good luck!

That is not the way the order bank works. Orders automatically are matched against available allocations in FIFO order.

Hmm. I guess my interpretation from other things I've read and seen are incorrect then. I absolutely trust what your saying so ill go with that. Thanks for clarification.

Thanks for clarifying. To the question of whether it's worth waiting with multiple dealers, is the order bank a centralized pool for all US BMW dealers or an individual waitlist for each dealer? If it's centralized then sounds like making multiple orders won't help (assuming it's strictly FIFO).

Each dealer has their own order bank. Allocations are issued to dealers based on a formula with the largest input being sales volume. For example, two dealers could have an order bank with 10 people people and the next month one will get 11 allocations so their order bank could be cleared but the other may only get 2 so 8 would have to wait another month or more.

Some dealers require a deposit even if they don't have an allocation. Make sure you are doing non-refundable ones if you go to different dealers.

Has anyone been told the estimated delayed time for the Frozen Grey? I love the color but don't want to wait 6 months.

Should be little to no extra waiting time since that is a Priority 1 paint.

I ordered it in March, got production number and was told by Genius it's week 18 build. So looks like no crazy delay.
