Military Incentive X6

I went to BMW to see if they had any X6 cars available on the lot at this point in time I didn’t have 100% intentions of purchasing because I wanted to test drive and make sure it was really what I wanted. Well they didn’t have any on the lot other than used ones but I test drove a used x6 and a new x4 and was sold. I was then told I could order one with a deposit which completely understandable. But then the dealership made me also have my credit checked by BMW they made it seem as if it was a requirement for an order. Then I was told that because I will be using BMW financing I wouldn’t get the $4000 military incentive instead I would only get $500. So at this point in time I would still have the option to bring my own financing and get the $4000 instead of correct?

I just ordered a x5 10 days ago, the paperwork shows the $4k (incentive?) and I did have to place a $1,000 deposit on the order but they didn’t require any credit check. I cut off any discussion about financing letting them know I will make that decision closer to delivery. I will shop around, might use USAA or BMW FS or might pay cash, I’ll make that decision later.

The second part of your attachment indicate what you are stating reference the $4K. So, confirm with financial manager. Also, if you are a member of the BMW Car Club of America you could get a $1K rebate check in the mail, but there are some conditions as to length of membership before you can get that benefit. Look them up for more info: https://www.bmwcca.org/vehicle_rebate

You do not have to use the BNW financing. With the credit check you got a no-harm lock on rates and incentives (not military) for at least 60 days, likely 90 or 120 not an obligation to use their financing.

Look for outside financing, or cash, since your dealer is correct in that if you use BMWFS the incentive drops to $500.

Navy Federal Credit Union offers the best financing rates. You can stack the full Military incentive with any financing other than BMW.. Such decisions don't have to be made until you take delivery of the car. It is vitally important that you negotiate any dealer discounts up-front when you place the order. For reference I got a 4.5% (approx) dealer discount last August on a M60i in addition to the Military incentive. I made the deal when I placed the order.

You are correct. Be aware that the incentive can change every month and is not locked in until the month you take delivery. I placed an order in December, delivery scheduled for March 11, and my dealer has not done credit check on me. I am hoping the incentive at least stays the same as this is the end of the MY.

Awesome I appreciate all the advice. I ended up getting a 4.99% rate with Navy federal and my car went into production today. Just got the email.

4.99% is very good in today's loan market. I got the same back in Nov 2023.

Very good. Make sure you get your production number from your CA. When you have that you can add it to MyGarage to track its progress and use the "F12" process to get your assembly date. Production Begins does not mean that the vehicle is being assembled but rather that a VIN has been assigned and parts ordered/allocated. The vehicle will be assembled on the scheduled production date and takes less than a day to complete.

If you have any problems just let me know.

Then you are set. You can add your vehicle to MyGarage using the VIN.

So I tried the F12 trick, and the only thing I can see is status code 200 on one thing and 216 on another unless I'm doing it wrong lol

NEVERMIND MARCH 6th…. Looks like my Christmas present will now be a birthday present…

That’s good to hear.

FYI for others, what she was doing wrong to begin with is that she was on the detail page rather than the main MyGarage page. If you get the same error go back a page.

just sharing my experience from my pickup day. Ordered in december 2023 when incentives were healthier. Pickup day was last week of january, and finance manager was insisting that my incentives expired. In my mind no big deal, id just use outside financing to get the most incentive. My broker insisted that my deal was locked. Dealer called me that afternoon telling me that regional or hq (not sure who) confirmed or approved that my deal indeed is locked. Came back the next day to re-sign everything. Dealer shredded my outside financing check and i went with bmwfs to get all incentives as discussed.

Thanks for the info on this, they sure beat USAA (USAA benefits have declined tremendously over the years, don't even think about using them for auto insurance in Florida).
Signed back up with Navy Federal last night.
Thanks again.

P.S. does anyone happen to know how long in advance you can lock in a NFCU rate prior to delivery?

I think the lock was 60 days when I did it last August. Give NFCU a call. They’re easy to contact.

Congratulations. I assume that is from the BMWNA email. What status are you in on MyGarage?
