I don't think he meant 0 total, but 0 produced isn't to crazy, maybe a stretch, but not crazy. Haha

it's crazy considering most people don't understand what it would take for that sort of shift. Too many industries could not make that change so fast alongside the public. Oil is in everything whether people like it or not it's hard finding a product that has no Trace to oil in some way.

I thought we were talking about car fuel here. I'm not saying shift to no oil. I'm saying that no more petrol or diesel cars being produced as new in 15 years is a stretch but technically possible.

Maybe in the EU if it's completely forced but it's not the what idea. there needs to be a transitional period of at least 15-20 years because infrastructure needs to catch up. Even adding thousands of stations with chargers per year they will still be behind.

No new fossil cars to be sold by 2030 in EU. Sweden's environmental minister wants to take it even further. To ban all fossil cars by 2030.

I'm going to laugh when infrastructure falls flat. People are crazy, good thing the US isn't that stupid but we fail many other places

I can’t wait for the first exhaust video of the X5M. I was very underwhelmed with the exhaust note of the X3M. You can’t fake displacement. There is no way a V8TT won’t sound like the gods of thunder in the X5M. It’s pure music to my ears.

So even with the new Competition model it might make sense to purchase a Dinan exhaust system upgrade?

depends how it sounds. The M5 Comp sounds good but lacks the true throat of other V8's. You can't always make up for lack of displacement ie the 4.4L will never sound like a 6.2L V8 but it can come close with a proper exhaust

I guess if I listen to the M5 Competition exhaust at the dealer now it will represent what the X5M Competition will sound like or pretty close. I love the exhaust sound on my SVR and I don’t want to order something that disappoints me in this area.

RR's don't really sound all that great, I think the M5 Comp sounds better as a whole. My 50i sounds better than the RR from the ones I've heard but inside the car is so quiet which is nice.

Having heard the M850i it gives me hope that BMW is finally moving into a different exhaust note direction. M850i sounds very much like a proper V8 with deep rumble and burble.

I own a X6M and test drove the M5 Comp but both really don't sound like proper V8s to me. It's always personal preference but I do enjoy the sound of an AMG or SVR over the current gen M, even with exhaust mods.

I agree with you there. SVR sounds good but seems about the same level of noise/deepness of sound as my 50i when I roll the windows down. There's no ASD in my car + with acoustic glass its super quiet inside so I don't realize how loud the exhaust is under full load most of the time.
