Congrats! Looks good, did the same interior but with Carbon Black.
Curious what do you mean by M Competition front/rear bumpers? Do you mean the Carbon fiber sort of wings or something else like the actual M Competition bumpers

Any reason you didn't just add shadowline package to the build vs. adding black grille/tips after?

I still haven't decided which front/rear bumpers I want to go with. I would like to go with the OEM M competition bumper, but I've seen a really nice aftermarket one from IND. I'm in no rush for it, tbh, once I got the rims (which happened to be black), I liked the whole blacked out look for the exterior. That's why I started this little project.

1. Costly
2. Unless you've bought your car with Cash, makes no sense to get these additional packages for those ridiculous prices. You're paying interest for these additional things that you can buy afterwards.

Plus, I have a friend who works for BMW, so I get all parts at EMP pricing.

Shadowline package for me was an additional $300 which is way less than buying the OEM parts aftermarket.

did you buy the car out? or lease/finance? if you bought it outright, it's worth it, but if your leasing/financing, makes no sense because that $300 is added to your purchase price and your paying interest on it for whatever the duration is....that's just how i see it, everyone has their own view. i'm not here to judge.

Financed what I needed to get the $2,500 rebate, but even at the .9% rate I'm paying a whopping $8 in interest on that shadowline package over the course of the loan assuming I don't pay it off early. I would pay more than that in shipping costs alone just to get the parts aftermarket and I don't have to deal with the hassle of swapping the parts out myself. But like you said, to each their own.

I’m not following your logic on that. Why would that be any different than any other option when you are leasing? Or are you saying only base models should be leased?

Lol that's how I read it. I've heard the argument before, but it really only makes sense on something like Tesla's Full Self Driving package, where it's basically vaporware. Beyond that, with the insanely low interest rates right now...

I don't follow the logic either. Could easily pay extra $300 to your lending institution on the day you pick up the car and incur O% interest.

Also just to put numbers to this. $300 for 5 years at 1.9% would be just shy of $330 or far less than the cost of aftermarket even at emp pricing and installation. Installation of the exhaust tips is a hassle.

That said I purchased the parts as part of my initial deal to have them installed by the dealer because my x5 was on the lot but didn't have the extended shadowline which I prefer.

Congrats on you new X5...looks great.
