Hello all. Just took delivery of my new G05 X5 to replace my F25 X3. Loving the new car. I know my opinion is the only one that ultimately matters... but wanted to get thoughts on a couple alternatives running through my head as far as badging goes- so I'm not playing trial and error here.

First of all, I have an Arctic Grey X5 x-drive 40i with the M-sport package and black wheels. Basically all of the car is grey and black except the BMW logos and the "X5" and "xdrive40i" badging. Not a huge fan of where it says "xdrive40i" in general because it seems pretty busy. So here's kind of where I'm at....

1) Debadge the "xdrive40i" and leave the "X5" as it
2) Debadge both of the "xdrive40i" and the "X5" and be completely unbadged
3) Debadge the "xdrive40i" but replace the silver "X5" with the glossy black X5 to match the rest of the trim
4) Debadge both and replace both with glossy black. Hoping that the black "xdrive40i" would help maybe make it look a little less busy in this situation.

Try looking in that sub forum maybe you find a car similar without to get an idea. My understanding is that it’s easy to remove and easy to add

At the least remove the sliver and put on the Black X5. Save the other $40-50 on the 40i badge. Be sure to never put on an M badge though you will never hear the end of it.

Definitely no M badge. Maybe a little stuck in the past but I was honestly surprised at the M logos on the door sills and steering wheel.

My vote is for #3 as i have done this on a previous vehicle and it looked good.
BTW beautiful car. What color is interior?

Thank you. That is the way I was leaning initially. Interior is black Vernasca with the aluminum trim. Picked it up from a local dealer. I probably would have ordered a few things differently if it was a custom order, but now that I've seen it and had it for a little while, I'm glad I got what I did.

My opinion: Badging is simply advertising for the manufacturer, I de-badge my cars. I know what I bought and I don't need to see a badge to remember and I don't need to show off buying an expensive car to my neighbors. I like the simple clean look de-badging gives me and the fact that my cleaning towel doesn't get hung up on the edges of the badge or gives me difficulty in cleaning within the badge.. .. and before anyone asks, I do not remove the roundel.

I removed xdrive and kept X5. I have all black trim and wheels, same color , m-sport like you.

Plasti-Dip the badges. Very easy to do and will save you some money!

Badge or de-badge however YOU like (to the OP), forget other people's opinions, they don't matter. There is no science to it, just a bunch of opinionated people on the internet who aren't helping you pay for the car.

I agree. I only care to the extent that it helps me identify the idiots or trolls ... but I would be even happier to not have that capability as it's not the most positive one.
