That's great! Thanks for posting. Based on the comment about 2.5 million vehicles connected by end of year, I wonder if that will be 2.5 million vehicles running an BMW OS/iDrive or if they will be upgrading certain existing vehicles to the newest iDrive.

Well, considering that they only produce 2.5 million cars a year, I would hope so. But to be honest, I wasn’t too impressed with the video. The interface looks a little dated to me. I wish they would get away from the silly kidney grill instruments and go back to the classic round dials.

why do i keep hearing arnie? 'get to the choppa'
new drive looking good.
Just taken delivery of a new Golf 8 for the misses, seems the style trend for dash layout is going less cluttered approach. One setting on the golf is literally just the speedo and a fuel gauge, i actually quite liked it, very simple and clear, sometimes these new displays can be needlessly overclutered. having the ability to de clutter is a good option i think

Yep, stick the 3-foot iPAD on the dash and "Done".

Sorry not a big fan, not enough differentiation with the MB GLE design.

Don't be too mesmerised with the graphics, look at the entire layout - I prefer the "cockpit feel" and not the "sitting behind my desk at home" with multiple screens feel.

In terms of the graphics, any decent display can produce good graphics, and they could've made the instrument cluster in the current model customisable. You can still do it, but through coding.

There is another Thread in the General forum, and they do intend to port some of the features; probably the graphics, into iDrive 7.

Hope they're using solid state memory this time instead of that "whining" HDD they used in the G05.

Copying mercedes who is already getting away from this design and splitting the screens up. They knew it was a mistake. Now BMW is doing the same mistake.
