X5 45e charging rate in sports mode
Does anybody know or has experience how long or how many kilometers it take to fully charge the battery of the 45e while driving in sports (m/s) mode.
Without using the 'boost' of the battery. Regenerated energy from the brakes is still active then? |

Just moving the transmission to m/s mode won't initiate charging of the battery beyond what the regenerative braking will do. Regenerative braking doesn't add much unless you are descending a mountain. Figure maybe a mile of recharge for 3 miles of downhill driving. If you want to charge the battery while driving, you need to select Battery drive mode. But your fuel economy will suffer for it. It's much better to plug the car in.

Was testing today on the highway.
Driving In sports mode, battery completely empty. Driving on cruise control 90km/h. In about 7km it indicated 4km of electric radius available. Screen shows an electricity flow to the battery as well. |

It will supply a minimal amount of charge so that you have electric boost when in Sport mode. But it won't fill the battery up. At least that's my understanding
