X5 50e MSport Pro - order placed

Currently in a Merc EQC which is end of contract on 14th Feb, so the quest started in the last couple of weeks to decide 'what next'.

Whilst the EQC has been a very good car, the 200-ish miles range gave me range anxiety so I decided to look at the market for premium PHEV SUVs.

I was put off by going for another Merc, as both my E450 coupe and EQC (previous two cars) had annoying dashboard rattles that the dealer never managed to fix.

Before that, I had a 2013 and then a 2016 Range Rover Sport.

I narrowed my choice down to the new RRS P460e and the X5 50e, and managed to get very competitive finance offers (thanks Carwow) that were comparable for the specs I was after for both vehicles.

Whilst the RRS is a very nice car, I was put off by the reliability issues JLR experiences and having had two before, I was after a change. Plus there is an element of 'free arrogance pack' that comes with Range Rovers, which I was keen to avoid this time around.

The X5 50e ticked all the boxes and the recent YT review by Joe Achilles helped to cement my decision to place an order.

My specification is:

- Skyscraper Silver
- Black Sensafin
- M Sport Pro Package
- Technology Plus Package
- Towbar

I am looking forward to owning a BMW again, the last one I owned was a 323 Coupe from new back in 1997!

Bring on January 2025

V nice. I was contemplating the Merc E63s S.W. (pre 2023) but ended up with the X5 M60i. Merc used to make the best sounding V8s.

Very nice! Congrats

Did you custom-build it or order one already on the shop floor?

Also the RR come with silly insurance prices.

Hi, I was in a similar position - Had the 2020 X5m comp for 1 year and the ride quality put me off after a bit, wish it had air susp, I shouldnt complain but the mpg wasnt the best either compared to its competitors. Anyways I was after something that ticked the boxes above, went to see x7, new x5 and RRS P460e and I had to get the RRS AB, ticked all the boxes, plus got it through fleet, saving tons of £ on deposit plus insurance was included along with services and tyre cover. No brainer. Good luck with your new order. Ours currently in order and have got a build date for next week and hopefully get it delivered in a month time.

I too am in an EQC but only had mine a year, I thought I'd be OK with the all electric range but I was wrong. I switched from a G05 M50i which I loved so have just ordered a G05 LCi 50e. M Pro, Tech Pro, Sapphire Black with black 22's and Ivory Merino.

Enjoy it's an amazing bit of kit. I got the Skyscraper Grey over Cognac interior which looks great and g8ves the inside an 'airy' feel
