I finally heard from my dealer, after threatening to find another dealership that believed in customer service. He said they expect the parts on the 20th and if will take 3 weeks or so th get caught up. So, that means my car will be sitting there for another month. Ugh!

My CA let me drive my X5 40i today as well. While there i noticed a scratch on the front bumper looks like someone dinged it while parking currently its being downplayed as minor and negligible by the dealership but its not just surface scratch and can't be buffed out

while driving it noticed the ride was harsh compared to the test drive vehicle, my car has the 742M wheels with staggered 275/35 R22 in front and 315/30 R22 in the rear with air suspension and adaptive M suspension. I think the 22's may have been a tad bit too much causing the harsh ride, currently driving a 430i loaner which feels worlds better in absorbing bumps and potholes of our Ontario roads. Additionally, now with a late October to early November delivery I would need winter tires right away which makes the tires on the car right now useless on delivery so now I face 4 options

1) swap out the staggered setup for a square 275/35 R22 107 square setup with michelin all season 4 - cost $3200 from costco, the dealership says this could damage the trasnfer case but have seen members on this forum do this, so not sure
2) Get a set of winter tires staggered - 4500 without rims
3) just swap out the entire car and order another one - cost: lost discounts of approx 4k
4) take a very short term lease on whatever is available m340i/330i for 2 years and dealer says they will pull me out in 8 or 9 months- 0% interest and 5k off

This car was from landed inventory and not something I custom ordered, couldn't test drive it before buying as it wasnt on the lot yet, just had the opportunity to drive it for the first time. Not sure if tires were over inflated causing the harsher ride but I think 20" tires would've been way better with the air suspension considering how the car feels on potholes. Not sure if anyone else with 22" wheels can chime in or if playing around with the adaptive suspension helps at all.

He did communicate that "parts were moving from the manufacturer" and that the dealer had sent a list of VINS prioritizing what vehicles they would like to see fixed first.

I reached out to another BMW contact at another dealer, and he relayed that some parts would be arriving next week followed by the software update by the end of next week. Unfortunately, he said parts would be very limited for the first run, and after that shouldn't be a problem.

Feels like we are on the cusp of this!

I thought you cannot get air suspension with adaptive M ? Its either air suspension or adaptive M , and did you switch to comfort mode ?

I test drove with 22 staggered and i found it fairly comfortable ( probably not as 20 inch tho.

If there’s a noticeable scratch on the bumper dealer should take care of it. At least over here thats how it works

Are we starting to see solid confirmation that people with builds after the magic date in August (not sure of the exact date other than late teens or early 20s) are not part of the stop sale and picking up cars? I haven’t seen a lot of posts on this page of people picking up cars after a reorder but that may be because they are busy driving their new car and have moved on.

Getting ready to cancel and reorder but want to make sure new builds are being deliver and not part of stop sale. (US delivery)

I'm from Canada so it may be different but I have the M sport, M sport pro and 2vr 2 axle air suspension. The M sport pro comes with adaptive suspension which then can be stacked with the air suspension as a $1500 cad option. The ride on regular roads is excellent but whenever i hit a pothole it jars the entire cabin, the 430i loaner i am driving has 19" rims and regular all season run flat tires which insulates the cabin much better from potholes. Having said that the x5 is much quieter and solates all other noises way better than any other car I have ever driven. I came from a 2023 Audi S5 that had low profile tires and when i drove the demo x5 i was over the moon but now driving my own to be x5 today it felt like was back in my S5 when it came to ride. The low profile tires seem to not allow sufficient sidewall to absorb the potholes. Considering the cost of a new set of tires/wheels and considering the car is still on stop sale debating just pulling the trigger on a new order. Either ways i lose 4k so might as well add some more options and get a car that would better handle my local road conditions.

Regarding the scratch they said its minor and just laughed it off as its not visible because of the color and the car being parked outside (dusty). They feel they can easily move the car if i dont want it so they don't care about it as much.

Not possible, they are mutually exclusive for the X5. Unless of course they made a huge technological change that no one is aware of.

This is my build sheet. Even BMW canada website will allow me to build it with adaptive suspension and 2vr.

My build completed on 09/05 but it still shows on the recall list and is under the stop sale order. It was also in the Quality Check step for 21 days. I'm hoping that it won't have to have parts swapped out but it hasn't cleared yet.

You can ignore that. It is not possible to have the Adaptive M suspension and Air suspension, two different technologies.

Interesting, wish my CA told me that. I doubt even they know, thanks for that info. So the suspension rebound remains the same regardless of driving mode with 2vr?

No, not at all. All suspensions for the G05 are adaptive including the air suspension which also changes depending on drive mode selected.

Got it, i guess i was confusing it with active roll stabilizers from the x7 thinking stacking adaptive m and 2 vr would give me that result but clearly that's not the case, it's 2 totally different technologies. Thanks for clearing that up.

Not a problem. That is referred to as either DHP (Dynamic Handling Package) or Adaptive M Suspenion Professional. That would be great if those two could be combined on the X5 like the X7, hopefully for the G65.

This is now making me anxious about my new build. why do they keep building cars if they are going to be subject to the stop sale?

No need at all to be nervous. All new builds for almost the last month are clear of the stop sale. OP was an early August build.

Following closely

Thanks for all the helpful information here. I have a july23 build 530i. Have been told via corporate recall email there is no remedy but my CA said they will have parts by end of month. Doesn’t seem like there are clear answers. I may cancel my order being that it is my first experience with bmw and doesn’t instill much confidence.

Would greatly appreciate some input here. After driving the car with the 22's yesterday i found a set of 20" inch rims with cross climate 2 tires. Anyone have any feedback on if the 20" would improve the ride quality and absorption of road imperfections? I have heard good things about the cross climate 2 just hoping to get some input if someone has done a similar swap. If it means sacrificing some handling for greater comfort i am ok with it as I drive a lot. I would just store the stock wheels and tires.

My G05 is a July 23 build as well and I am being provided the same timeline with part availability from September 23, software from September 19 and a fix/delivery schedule based on chronological order based on who booked/placed an order when. The expectation js 2 weeks from Oct 23 funny how even that expectation was 2 weeks
