This not against you or your car, just think that is one, if not the most, tackiest features that BMW has put on their cars. I can only imagine that with 22" diamond crusted wheels.

Your X6 looks great, and it's so elegantly designed, this is a simple way to ruin that.

I'm all for making one's more personal, more power to you. I hope BMW doesn't move in this direction. Just making the BMW logos light up and glow would have been more subtle. How about flames out the tail pipes or grilles that growls when you want to impress.

Not my cup of tea but to each his own. I would have liked lighter touches like illuminated bmw badge similar to the i8

You find this hideous grill acceptable? It's in the same ugliness as the front and back lights. To my opinion it's a lose of dna and a lost generation of BMW's

I see the glowing grille is extremely polarising, much like the X6 itself lol.

FWIW, I would have ordered the car with the shadow line treatment if I had the choice, but since it was a car 'on the lot', I didn't get to choose.

At first, I did like the novelty of mixing my shadow line surround with the silver slats and keeping the glowing feature. But as I added black mirrors I felt the grille needed to be all black, so I changed the slats to the all black slats and have lost the glowing feature quite some time ago now. How it looks now can bee seen in my 'avatar'.

However, a moderator took my old post from the G05/6 forum and created this guide so hopefully it will help anyone that does want to mix & match the glowing grille with black surrounds like I had done.

I will say that I was initially thinking this would cheapen the look of the X6. Personally I feel the glowing Mercedes Benz logo's look horrible. But I will say, this actually looks great, and was well executed by BMW. Doesn't cheapen the look at all, and actually gives it a very commanding presence at night.

Is this on any x6 or only electric versions? What other bmws have this? Do you have any control of when it comes on or does it just go on with headlights?

Nice mod with the black.

It's available on all G06 X6's - there isn't a hybrid X6 at the moment, a hybrid is available only in the X5.

You can set it via idrive, the choices are:
1. On when you lock or unlock the car only like welcome lights
2. On with headlights
3. Off

Oh to answer your other question, BMW do an iconic glow grille for the G30 5 series too. Maybe other models too now.

I remember it being announced when I had my G30 in 2019. I don't know if they actually released it yet
