I just got my M60i with tow package option, and will be towing next week. I have a Tekonsha Prodigy RF wireless brake controller that worked fine before (though the remote didn't always seem to connect to the controller box; from my reading this doesn't matter once it's calibrated), but I am curious what others are using.

Do you connect to the wiring that is supposed to be available under the dashboard somewhere, and if so, what kind of device? I wonder if the Prodigy is good to go vs. getting a hardwired controller (like Redarc which I have seen mentioned).

I'd say use what you've got - if it works and you trust it, why spend money ... if it ain't broke..

I've got the Prodigy P2, that I've had for years, so bit of digging here and about $40 in parts (including a new universal harness w/ diode) got me sorted. I was able to find the factory harness and wiring just by removing the cubby at driver's left knee. I imagine you've seen the long thread here on it all - if not, LMK and I can point you to it.

All that said, I do like redarc products - I have The Manager 30 running the 12v system in my enclosed motorcycle trailer/mini toy hauler that I built a few years ago.

Picked Up Some 20's and Tires

Found a great deal on some 748M wheels with tires a couple weeks ago. With an offroad camping destination next weekend, I took the opportunity to given them a good wash, ceramic and install. Also gave me the opportunity to clean up the calipers.

2 days after camping I'll be headed to Telluride for the rest of the month - never know what weather... so they'll probably live on there until Spring. Happy with them so far (all 2-3 miles I drove after install). The tires have a bunch of sipes so hopefully they do well in snow and ice. If not I'll likely pick up some proper winter tires (not A/T's). With the price I paid I look at it as a great deal on wheels with some free tires in good shape.

*And yeah, not a freshly washed glamor shot (I plan on a proper full wash before I head out).
