Stuck miles to empty counter + mileage counters broken

After the update to 11/2020.20 the remaining mileage counter in the dashboard is always stuck on 285 kms and it doesn't matter if the tank is full or empty. I'm also unable to reset Individual mileage counter and the consumption "Since Refueling" shows ---- for a date and doesn't display any consumption. Any ideas how to fix this? I tried resetting the head unit by holding the radio volume button for 30 seconds - it did reset, but no change to the problem I have.

That's a new one. Looks like a software bug triggered by some corrupted variable. I think you're going to need warranty service and I bet they're going to have trouble too (mechanics are not equipped to deal with software bugs). Sorry.

Best bet might be to force dealer to update you to latest, 03/2021.xx

Sounds like a bug, but have you tried a forced iDrive reboot? Press and hold the volume control knob in for about 30-seconds and see what happens.

In case of interest - I took it to the dealer. They re-flashed the software. It actually changed the remaining mileage from 285 to 325, but it was still stuck there and no gas mileage still. Then they replaced the whole unit with displays, etc. behind the steering wheel and that fixed it.
