iPhone pop up on wireless tray

Ok I have had this pop up since day 1. I have iPhone X with iOS 13 and .53 and still getting the pop up. Wondering if anyone else is still experiencing this and or what have you done to fix it. Thank You.

Sorry, but what pop-up? Didn't see that information in you post.

On my iPhone the credit card pops up when I put it on the charging tray. This has been happening since 11/18 and BMW has said it would fixed via current software update. I’ve read some have had the wireless tray replaced and that fixed it.

Hope it's not charging your card instead of your phone. May be the incorrect type of "charging" tray

Ah, the ApplePay issue. Yes, I believe that was resolved by the replacement of the charging tray. Has this been an issue for you since you've had your vehicle?

It has been since 11/2018. I had an update done in 2019 to .37 but didn’t work. Then I thot I would wait til Apples big update and that didn’t work either nor does the .53 ver.

Based on others' experiences, this sounds like a defective charging pad. I'd have the dealer diagnose it and replace it (assuming that is, in fact, the issue).

Was it covered under warranty? I’m dragging my feet bringing it back in but I’m hoping today’s iPhone update might help...

Yes, it should be a warranty repair. 👍

Same. Dealer did actually did a good job replacing the wireless charger. I couldn't tell anything had been fussed with. Nothing scratched/damaged, etc... BEST part - no more credit card/payment prompt EVERY time I put my phone in the wireless charging tray... no more disabling of long press Siri until I dismiss the credit card prompt on the phone. That sucked and was irritating AF.

This was one of the dumbest bugs BMW shipped with (there are many others) - so so obvious and so so disruptive to the user experience. Not Apple's mistake (as BMW pointed to early on).

I HIGHLY recommend that anyone that is effected - bring your car in and make BMW fix it. BMW needs to feel the pain/cost.

On mine they ever so slightly scuffed the pleather on the side of the tunnel at the edge of the wood trim and left a hell of a lot of greasy fingerprints all over the wood trim in the center console. Luckily I've gotten to a point where I just don't let that kind of stuff bother me. At least the functionality is there — I spent 10 months not even using the wireless charger at all because of that stupid bug. Just wish the Siri long press worked outside of CarPlay as it did with the original software my X5 shipped with last November.

I'm having the same issue with the charging tray/Apple Pay pop up. My X5 is at the dealer now, after a couple of previous unsuccessful attempts to resolve the issue. Does anyone know of a technical bulletin or specific guidance from BMW on replacing the tray? That would help. Thanks.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but better to do this than start a new one with the same problem. Has anyone has the tray swap in the UK? in particular was there a UK TSB for this work?
I have the apple pay pop up issue, causing all sorts of issues with CP, plus causes the phone to throttle back when it starts to get hot due to apple pay activating the screen.

I got mine replaced in the UK - no real argument, just told them that apple pay pops up every time I put my phone in the charger and I was told it was a known issue with a fix.

I assume they looked it up because when I collected the car they'd put a new wireless charging tray in it.

I think my dealership will eventually get on board, I forwarded them the TSB from the US. But initially they said it’s not a fault, I obviously corrected them saying it isn’t supposed to do it, quoting the TSB.

Which dealership did you use? Also did the invoice quote any UK TSB code?
