Yep they had a several high spec 530d xDrive MSport saloons as stock and been around for a couple of months so negotiated a deal for a colleague, 28% discount and 2.9% APR

You will not regret the 40i (although I'd really like the M now..), sweet engine that has enough punch to make it feel powerful

B58 is a great engine, very smooth and enough power and willingness to rev to put a smile on your face. Obviously sounds a lot better than a diesel, although a bit too muted for my taste. Fuel economy will not be the same as for the 30d. Finally, as long as you are not pulling a boat I think you will have more driving pleasure out of the 40i.

Agreed, it’s exceeded my expectations coming from a 40d to 40i. The sound is more of a free revving ‘technical’ sound than a heavy V8 type sound. If you get some high revs in a tunnel the sound is a bit like an F1 engine to my ear...

I was concerned that I’d miss the torque of the 40d but I don’t at all, in fact other than a 10mpg worse average fuel economy (for me) there is no downside at all, it’s all good. Had a 40d been available I’d have bought that as I was pleased with that engine in my old F15 but I’m actually glad it’s not available as the 40i was the right choice for me.
