G05 x5 xline 19/20 winter tires?

So apparently I do not think the 20-inch all-season tire (275/45/r20 both front and rear) can handle the extreme snow here in Toronto, so most likely I will have to have a set of snow tires.
The stock ones are like 4500+ CAD, too expensive for me.
If I go for aftermarket ones, should I go for the tire only or with the rim? and which one would you guys prefer?
Thanks in advance.

BMW winter tire package

We too live in a climate that requires winter tires. The wife got the upgraded 21" staggered wheels on her X5 so cannot just buy tires and not rims.

Shipping costs just too great to TireRack it and the local tire shops, frankly, are very expensive for the sized wheels the 2019 X5 requires. Heck, even Costco (our goto) is cost prohibitive (and they didn't even have wheels in stock for the X5). So off I went to the local BMW dealership where I picked up these 19" wheels with Pirelli Scorpion Winter 265/50 R19s. $2800 USD. Not cheap but just barely more than TireRack shipping with wheels that I don't think looked particularly good.

I'm putting them on in two or three weeks.Name: IMG_3418.JPG

Your snow tire rim looks way better than my aftermarket ones. My snow tire looked like the 19-inch wheel on the old x6...
I figured that 19-inch tire plus rim is pretty much same price as the 20 inch snow tire without rim.

That - and the negligible price difference with TireRack - is why I decided to go with the BMW winter wheel package.

If I haven't just used same size winter tire as my all-season tire I've always gone with black steel wheels. This is the first time I've gotten make-specific winter wheels.

Have them installed yet? If so, please post various pics of them. Trying to decide myself. Thanks
