You could always let your installer install and add the Blendmount later yourself. They're easy to install.
I finally decided late yesterday to take the path you described.

I just heard from BM moments ago and they said based on a photo in a related thread here, that I should use BBV-2018. They do not official support the notion of adding a RD clip - like the V1 - to this but are aware 'it has been done'.

I am reviewing your photo in post #1 to better understand how this work.

BTW, have you encountered the problem described in this RDF thread? https://www.rdforum.org/index.php?threads/74874/

Haven't had any problems with my BV setting my R3 off. I have read issues of the V1 falling in the G05 due to the gesture control.

Looks like they've added a new BV 2018 BM. That wasn't available when I ordered, but I know the BV 2030 fits perfect and worked for the way I wanted to bolt my radar detector clip to it. I've attached some detailed images. My radar detector clip is circled in red. In the other pic you can see the 2 screws I used to mount the radar clip the the BM.

Very helpful. Thank you.

I started a thread some months ago when I had to disable laser on my V1 due to the conflict with gestures that I use. By contrast, my R3 and now my R7 do not react since they are not as sensitive to laser.

It is stormy today and difficult to get good pictures, but here is my current install. I will test this and see if using the BM would be an advantage for me.

The BV would be about the same location in the center, but sitting about 2" away from the windshield and your V1 would be right below it.

My installer claims that since I have 80% tint on the windshield and with this placement that glare would be reduced to the point that I may not need to add a polarized lens. Do you use a polarized lens?

No, not at all. Still trying to decide if we need the 80% tint on our G05 like we had on our F15. Wondering just how much heat is reduced?

I had 80% in my F15 and now my G05. I think it makes a difference, but I did not do a thermometer check before the tint was done in December.

It won't work with the BV 2017. The BV 2017 doesn't work for the BlackVue by itself in the G05. I posted some close up pics a few posts ago.

I am not able to login to the BV cloud today. Is the server down or is this specific to me?

Power Magic EZ

Anyone installed PowerMagic EZ https://www.blackvue.com/power-magic-ez/ on G05?

I am planning to buy one but read online G05 doesn't support it?

I drive about an hour daily and rest of the time car is parked so will it be a good idea to enable parking mode? Will it drain the battery?

Hello,

I took the same path to install my 750 2CH + PMP into my new G05. I plugged BATT in fuse 20 and ACC in fuse 53. Thank you for the tips but... I have a problem.

When I connect the PMP, I have an error with Tires Pressure. The car can't measure the entire cycle and hangs with an error.

Maybe some interferences with my old PMP (2013)? Any ideas ?

Thanks and regards,
Miguel

Has anyone had overheating issues with their BV in their G05?

I have not, but I have 80% windshield tint and will put up shades when we start consistently going 90 and above.

Here is a thread about some of have overheating issues and experiments for resolutions: https://www.rdforum.org/index.php?threads/88944/

It's crucial that windscreen-mounted dashcams is only stuck to clear glass, not those small areas which are masked by a pattern to minimise sun glare. Those areas get much hotter than the rest of the windscreen

I've had no issues with ours here in Tx. We don't have windshield tint yet, but I'm looking in to it.

Is there a better way to position the sun shade to limit overheating the BV?

I bought an inexpensive crosstour dual dash cam and I love it. It takes amazing video quality front and back. But you have to remove the SD card to see the vids, no WiFi. Next one ... but I feel I have substantial protection for vandalism or a crash.

I didn’t fish wires through anything, but was able to hide and protect them under floor mats everywhere except on the dash.

Thanks for posting. Great info!

That's about the only way to put the sunscreen. Any other way would obstruct the camera in parking mode.
