Apple IOS13 support digital key unlocking

Anyone aware if IOS13 may support NFC unlocking like the Samsung phones?

It should.

Apple enabled that functionality, now BMW just needs to ask for a permission for the specific application and update the app.

I think we will have it in a month or two.

I have ios 13.1 beta, when I place phone to that spot, my credit card comes up like I'm about to pay for something.

so something definitely needs to be tweaked.

It does not. I've been running the beta for a while. The OP's car software must be older because wasn't that fix from BMW's end on a software update earlier this year?

Some people reported that a new version of iDrive fixed the issue, others reported that a new version of IOS fixed the problem, while others needed to have the wireless charging tray replaced to resolve the issue, so it may be a case of several different factors contributing to the problem and resolution.

Have a look here for Xeno 's posts on the issue;

I'm also running 13.1 beta with idrive November software .53 never see Apple pay while do wireless charging except iPhone get really hot.

First time I've seen this issue is today on latest version of IOS12 and new X5 but I've only had car a week so no extensive testing.

Updated to IOS 13 this morning. Followed all the instructions on iDrive....long story short, could not get it to work

Perhaps the BMW app itself now needs an update and then it would work?

Because the wireless charging tray needs to be replaced to fix it. They replaced mine, and it has been fixed ever since. Xeno did as well.

Thanks - but if the tray is faulty why wouldn't it be covered under warranty? Have BMW confirmed it's a tray that is faulty causing Apple Pay and over heading issue?

I have posted this already but I’m doing it again ty. I have the .53 software and the iOS 13 software. I still get at Apple Pay pop up however if I wait 25-30 seconds it disappears. So what is it a fix or do I still have a problem?

It is a hardware issue. The tray needs to be replaced. My inept service dept tried to convince me that my X5 does not have a wireless charging tray and that’s why it wasn’t working. Sadly that is pretty common amongst service consultants
