I've probably had just about every kind of drip coffee out there and nothing has bested it.
Interesting, that's what I'm on now. Maybe its my grinder not doing a good job or the supermarket distribution. I do find the Starbucks is better from their grinder than mine.

Probably one of the best cups of coffee I've ever had was a Reserve Roast with a pour over method. Yum.
I've never though about pour over at home since going to the press but I'll have to try it now. When I was working in Chicago I stopped at Intelligencia for a cup and I swear the guy thought he was curing cancer or something (as focused as he was pouring the water over the grounds. ) Now I understand

Stop in Starbucks, grab a bag of whole bean Pike place roast.
Hand it to the girl and have it grind to slight thicker than "press"
This will last me about 2 weeks.
Bring it home and keep it in the refrigerator.
Every morning make 2 cups/// 32oz of cowboy coffee.
16oz in the travel mug/thermos for the morning commute/2 morning hours.
The other 16oz in another thermos to be had around 11-to 1 oclock.
Im on the road for 9-10 hrs per day....
In a pinch I'll stop and do DD dark roast....but i have stop spending money every day and make my own these days....

Ha! when you start pouring your own coffee...you'll know why you need to be focused. It's about speed and coverage. Too fast and the water may seep through the sides and dilute the batch, too slow and the water isn't hot enough.

Read the link below and try to follow their direction. Also, be prepared with the exact water you need and use the right kettle. I don't use one of those goose neck ones, and it's a PITA. I splatter water a bit if someone is talking to me while I'm pouring...but the key is to get the pour done in about 3 minutes.

Right now I'm using an Encore burr grinder and Chemex pour over, but they can be ground for french press too. My favorite beans have been Sightglass so far, but I'm still experimenting.
Love sightglass coffee house, place makes killer joe

Wow I didn't think anybody liked the Major Dickason by Peets. The front desk lady at our office stocks that roast plus Angel City from Groundwork and the general consensus is that the Groundwork is much better. There's only 1 person in our entire office that likes the Peets.

Yeah, plus shipping. Nice treat once in a while but not for every day, at least for me.

The process is just as important as the coffee. My wife uses a standard brewer and I use a Chemex and a quality burr grinder (she doesn't have the patience for the pourover process). We've done blind taste tests with each and the Chemex always wins.

Wife used to only use Peet's MD, but once I brought home their Kenya she switched. Peet's Kenya is the best I've found for the money. Groundwork's Bitches Brew is slightly better than Peet's Kenya, but it's too expensive and a PITA to get.

OH GOD, I miss my Technivorm and burr grinder set... Thankfully, I only drank coffee for enjoyment/guests, not because of a caffeine dependency, or I'd go crazy for every coffee I've had post-Technivorm.

I have never been big on coffee, but I've recently tried New Mexico Pinon coffee and really quite like it.

Took me 2 days on morphine drip in the hospital the last time I kicked it. Now I only "manage" it, and Hump Day takes on a new meaning now. Headed over to get my second cup of leaded. . .
