Groaning, creaky brakes.
My 2023 x40i brakes creak and groan while creeping. I brought this up ar at the first service and was told it was normal. Doesn’t bother me as much as the wife. Our previous 3 series sedans did not do this. Other vehicles such as my Ram truck did. Thoughts?

Mine do as well on my 23 45e. Since day one. Dealer also told me its normal, blaming it on performance brakes. I had them recheck the brakes and they came back fine. I'm not happy with it but it seems like there isn't much I can do.

Thanks guys! FYI my X5 has the standard brakes with 21” staggered wheels. For all you engineering nerds and wannabe engineering nerds (like me). Here is a link to a study of the phenomena:

Do you put tire shine or gel on your tires after a wash to make them look nice? That can get onto the rotors and cause the creaking noise. Bedding in the brakes may fix the issue, just make sure you don’t burn the pad material onto the rotors by staying stopped for too long.
