Hi there - experiencing cold winter now days, I miss the remote start option on the F95.

Has anyone stumbled across any after market options that can be fitted?

I am aware of the Remote Start function in the iDrive that is valid in some markets, but not in Norway.

Click the lock button three times on the key fob. I think it's standard. You may have to fiddle around w the climate control settings to get it to work but it's there. Also, it will reset to default after certain software upgrades. Search this forum, I asked a similar question (for the exact opposite reason: Florida in the summer)

Have tried that already. Apparently BMW does not "allow" remote start in Europe, hence I am looking for some aftermarket solutions or a way to recode it.

what may be "standard" in one market is not standard for all markets. remote start is an example of this. while the reasons for some market differences are not clear, such as the ability to option B&W audio in EU-based X5 45e but not in U.S.-based 45e, it's pretty clear why EU-based ICE-only X5s do not have remote start.

some countries in the EU have very tight environmental laws that prohibit running engines in unoccupied cars which has forced BMW to not offer this feature throughout whole of Europe.

"warming up" modern engines is a thing of the past, so remote start is used as a comfort feature nowadays for pre-heating or cooling the cabin. the only way to do that and comply with the laws there, one would need to own a BEV or PHEV. this coincides with the EU's aggressive push to reduce/remove ICE and diesel vehicles from their roadways.

Yikes! For once I can say I'm glad I live in Florida.
