Reduced Mode in Instrument Cluster

I have an early 2019 G05 (10/2018 build).

Newer BMWs I’ve driven (since about mid-2020, including X5s) have a “reduced mode” for the instrument display which shows only digital speed and gear (unless on fuel reserve, or unless B/C button is pressed). It’s especially nice when just cruising down the highway, or at night when minimal distractions are appreciated.

Even though my X5 just received the latest OTA software update to 11/2020.xx, this function is excluded from my settings. (Instead I got an M Lap Timer, whoop-de-doo.)

What gives?

I used to see it in my settings and it didn't do anything so i assumed it was broken till i saw it working in my friends x6.

Since I've updated software though, its gone away from the selection.

Mine is an early build like yours and no M lap timer either (im on 03/21)

It won't show as an option despite upgrading your software, but you can code it via Bimmercode per attached.
