I have been week 43, 45, 47, now back to 111 and push to next year. I think will miss the tax credit. I only saw week 50, is there even production week 51 or 52?
CA gave me another fully load x5e that just entered 150 and likely be at dealership EOY, but my wife hates the "Manhattan Green Metallic". If anyone wants this x5e and in WA or OR, you can contact me for CA info.

Call Kirk Lemley at BMW Medford. He had Mineral White custom order free up a few days ago. Not sure what the deal is but may be a lead for you.

We went to the Seattle auto show last weekend and saw the Manhattan Green Metallic in person. It definitely looks better in person rather than pictures, but my wife said the same thing and wouldn't even entertain the thought of having the MGM. The color changes depending on the light which I don't mind, but the old saying goes...Happy wife, happy life.

Sitting in week 50, after being week 47. Was offered an on the lot phytonic over Silverstone this week that was nearly identical fully loaded otherwise if someone is interested. Here in Madison.

Also a lightly optioned carbon black 45e on the lot as well.

Had a cpa confirm my contract should meet the IRS rules this week so even if I miss the end of the year I'm still OK, so that was great news!

Looks like a lot of us are facing the similar experience: being told production start at week 47 and then pushed to week 50.

How do you know you were pushed into next year? I am back at week 50. Debating whether to believe it or search for alternatives.

Genius will say Jan 1 when you call. I went from 46 to 48 to week 1 then back to 111... now 112 week 50 on my original 10/1 order. It seems like week 50 is a popular week.

Yeah they clearly plan on building a ton of X5s in week 50. I hope it works out.

So to give you all context - I got my allocation on Oct 3rd for a week 43. I got pushed to week 49 > 48 > am now 47.
So, just a sample and your mileage may vary, but I'm about a 4 weeks delayed from the initial week I was given. You can use that to measure where you might get a build. And remember, almost exactly 2 weeks out, if your car is ready, you'll go to status 150 and given a prod date.

I got my allocation sept 29 (Oct allocation) for a wk45 request. Got pushed to week 48 on 10/17 then bumped up to week 47 on 10/21.

Stayed in 112 Wk 47 till 11/8 when it got pushed back to wk50 and status 111.
Went 112 this week and still wk50.

If you say at 2 weeks out it’ll go to 150 then it’s def not wk47 or wk48. I’ll see if I go 150 on Nov. 21 which would be wk49. If I really am wk50 then Nov. 28 I should go 150.

It is usually two weeks prior to the production date, you can still be 48 since you have a few days yet in week 46.

don't forget, it's not just the first day of the week. I went to 150 on a Thursday. If you don't know what week you are currently, just ring the BMW Genius line.

Yeah, signed a contract before the sixteenth. Didn't realize until discussions on here with Turtle that the guidance wasn't clear on what made binding or valid for the IRS. Turns out by dumb luck mine is both binding by Wisconsin law and has a 5% penalty clause written in to it that also satisfies the IRS.

You did great and are one of very few, likely a handful or two, that has a valid binding contract as far as the Transition rule is concerned. Some speculate that using the Transition rule will be an audit flag but you seem pretty thorough and I doubt the rest of your tax return will be a problem.

I just want to confirm that this message from a dealer trying to sell an in-stock 45e is BS and that a week 50 build means completed in week 50: Hey Bill, No worries, I get it. I don't want to to get you discouraged by any means but a build week 50 is a starting date of 12/13-12/19. Spartanburg closes down for the holidays at Christmas and new years. Production takes 10-14 days then several days at processing till it's released to carrier then several days to a week till delivery.....If it is a week 50 build, it wont be here by the end of the year. If I can ever help with anything please let me know.

For my build week 49 (Nov28 - Dec2) I moved to 150 on Nov 10 that I got a build date of 11/29. So, about 2 weeks out you'll be told your exact production date and move to step 150. So as long as your build date is that week 50, you'll finish the day of your production. Assembly of your car takes one day essentially.
Recommend you read threads on week 45 and 46 who are just getting theirs cars built - this week is week 46

yes my bad - that' week 48, not 49, typo.

I'm actually now at production date 11/22, so I'm week 47. The people at the factory I guess can hit targets and build faster.

It could be he is confused/misinformed rather than just lying. It does take 14 days or so once it hits the Production Begins status but that occurs about two weeks prior to the production week not on the production week as he must be thinking. As long as there are carriers available and they work a few days on Week 51, you will likely get it before the new year. So far though we have not seen any one with a Week 51 production so it could be they are closed the full two weeks for the Holidays in which case you may not get it. So far at least, it seems like things are better than they were last December when there were supposedly over 2,000 vehicles waiting for a truck.

Thanks for the comments, which confirm my understanding and the dates that people are posting for other threads. I know I am taking a chance with week 50 but will take the gamble on the build I prefer. (This is a great group and very informative.)

Not sure if this was directed at me, but I can physically see the car from the highway so...
