To each their own, but it’ll hardly be a year old - it’s January 2024!

Doubt there will be additional color choices. Suspect there will be additional included standard equipment as 2023 sales tanked compared to 2023. No price decrease.

TurtleBoy noted in another post that MY25 SOP is April. Since I have to wait at least two months to get my build, why not make it three by asking for a April slot instead of March build?… assuming there’s a positive resale benefit to saying I have a MY25 vs MY24 in 4 years? (Welcome comments if that assumption is wrong!)

Any tips how I should approach asking the dealer to honor that 10% off MSRP but give me a MY25 allocation?

I don't think there is concrete advice on that without knowing how they will respond. They either will or they won't. If not, you will have to convince them to by walking away from the deal and getting another dealer to do it (if possible). You may have to compromise on a lower percentage if you're not willing to walk away. Or maybe they will just say sure. It's kind of an unknown and needs to be dealt with on a case by case basis.

I'm struggling with this myself. I suspect the dealer will use this opportunity to say they are going to reduce my discount. Leading to the question of will the decreased discount be made up for by the lower depreciation?

Too many unknowns at this time I think.

I don't understand how discounts will change much, if allocations and demand stay constant. Come April, they will only have MY25s to build and sell and, well, the demand is what it is - it's not going up. They can't just say "it's MY25 now, no/lower discounts now" unless they want to hold on to inventory. Usually dealers just discount the leftover MYs a little more when the newest models start showing up, as they make way for incoming inventory.

Many do reduce discounts at the beginning of a new MY. It doesn't necessarily make sense in your scenario but keep in mind that demand is often higher at the beginning of a new MY.

They’ll still have cost incurring ‘24s on the lot, and offer to put you in one of those at a discount, or in a “perceived newer” ‘25- that needs to be built and isn’t costing the dealer anything at that point - at less or no discount. These items are not the same, and never will be, hence the pricing differential……

No word out as of yet with regards to the extent of changes to be expected in MY25 vs MY24?

I’ve waited 8 weeks for an allocation and still don’t have one. Might as well ask to push another 8 weeks to get the car built in April as MY25… just would love to know if the extra voluntary wait is actually worth it

What is interesting about that though is there always seem to be some dealers, even at the new MY, that will not discount the inventory as much as custom orders. For some reason they hold out to get the max dollars evidently not realizing it may be costing them more. Then again, I guess they now what they are dong in regards to the bottom line.

My 2024 50e was not discounted off msrp one bit. Week 11 build. Do you think it makes sense to ask for a 2025 model? I guess the only wildcard is not yet knowing how much the price will increase. I don’t expect there’ll be any changes or improvements since they just did a refresh.

Full price? Damn. Thats a tough call. Im thinking maybe you can use my25 as a leverage to get a discount on my24?

April start would make it around week 14/15 for my25. Can you wait for almost another month? Lots of what-ifs involved regarding options, packages, pricing.

I suppose another month wouldn’t kill me, assuming I could get a ‘25 for the same price and options. Any idea when the ‘25 specifics will be released?

Just counting backwards here, if they start april, that means allocations for those would be released in march, which means they can take orders in february. But im not as informed or as connected as others here so im just 100% speculating here.

Well, for those of us waiting on a week 10 or 11 build on a MY 24 50e, this does make things a bit more complicated.

Will be following with great interest if additional details come out about options/ packages/ pricing.

I settled for about 1.5% off MSRP on my order, so that is another wrinkle on the MY 25 subject.

Programs may not exist for MY25 in the beginning, but programs may be increased on MY24 (e.g, Loyalty)

X7 is April as well. 4 Series coupe/convertible (including M), 8 Series, and Z4 all are March production for MY25. All others are the usual times.

It's almost like I'm being messed with. My car started production this morning, so I can't cancel the order.

Honestly, I think I'm just going to accept it. It's only a few months difference and the warranty is still in effect for the full term.

It would be nice to get the new MY, but I don't think it's going to matter much at the end of the day.
