New IND M60i badges - gloss black

I Still don’t understand shiny chrome on an Msport professional package with all black trim and accents everywhere. 🤷‍♂️ So I switched it out. Will do the front one when I find a good fit.

I ordered from IND last week. They are painted to order so I should have them next week. First I'm gonna remove both chrome emblems and replace only the M60i emblem to see how it looks. Will post up some photos to collect opinions.

I did the same when I got mine, only took me a few minutes to not like it - seemed visually unbalanced, to m anyway... though on mine, Tanz Blue II, the black badges really don't stand out all that much, its just the colored '///' portion on the M that does, maybe that had something to do with my visual impression

Yes, skyscraper gray. And I will say it’s much lighter in person in many instances, and much flatter when the sunlight hits it, almost like the flatness of BG when walking up to it from a distance , then you get cloud cover and it shows all the good lines and gets a bit shinier. BG just went too blue in the sun for my tastes and Dravit went too red/brown. All great colors but I’m super happy with my choice!

Install?

These look great. How did prying off the originals go, and any pointers?

Also, I see IND offers pre-ceramic coated versions and a pry kit. Does anyone have experience with these options?

Use painters tape to mark (frame) placement of the badges. Warm up the old badges with a hair dryer. I used fishing line in a sawing motion to remove them. Goo gone or similar to remove residual adhesive.

Looks great LDT, you've got me seriously considering this option as we will have close to the same build/styling.

Love this post, car looks great. I’m liking the gloss black. Was about to order the matte black but this post has got me thinking. I also have the skyscraper grey with the Msport prof package. Just don’t like the chrome. Should I go gloss black or matte black, so torn now.

I think gloss black hits the spot --- go for it...

The simplest way is to use painter's tape to tape up the area between the edge of the trunk and the badge. Once you have this area marked up, it's your template.

Once you remove the old badges, stick the painter's tape back onto your trunk lid (the edge of the trunk lid is the starting point) so you have the correct position of the new badges.

Indeed. This is exactly what I did.

You should be able to ask the dealer to install new badges for you. Since most cars come with them it shouldn’t be a problem.

I'm more of DIY person, but if I don't find exact measurements I will go back to dealership and ask them to do it.
