Success! So I used my old Veepeak BLE adapter and I can code the ASS to stay off. I guess I will return the OBDLink CX adapter as it is supposed to code everything on all BMW models.

Update: See post below. The CX adapter DOES work with the Bimmercode app IF you remember to change the adapter settings in Bimmercode. I made this mistake the first time I tried to use it. My app was still set to my previous adapter.

Update to previous post: It was operator error. I forgot to change the settings in the Bimmercode app to the adapter I was using. When I changed it to the CX adapter I was able to code the start stop function as well as the others that I wanted to code. I sent an apology to both OBD Link and Bimmercode telling them it was my error.

So, if you have an X5 and want to code it you can use the OBD Link CX adapter and an Android phone, including the One Plus 3T.

It is very nice of you for doing the right thing. I was eyeing the CX adapter and took it off my list after seeing your post, but it is back on now. I feel good that you showed responsibility and you should feel good about it too! Appreciate!

BimmerCode now supports disabling auto start function even without the button.[IMG][/IMG]

It is a nice adapter and worked well for me once I changed my settings on the Bimmercode app. I think you can order direct from OBD Link or Amazon.

When I was shopping for an OBD adapter for Bimmercode Stephan, from BimmerCode, told me I should buy this OBD adapter because it was a 100 times faster than any of the Bluetooth adapters. https://twistedtuning.com/collection...eries-pre-sale

I can code everything I need including ASS, video in motion, startup warnings, etc. All in less than 15 minutes with this adapter. It's compatible with Android and Apple. Plus, if you're worried about losing the WiFi connection just get an RJ45 to USB C cable and you have all the best options for reliable coding.

Does this include the G05 too? Have you or anyone you know try this?

I am going to give this a try, I have a 2021 and have been missing the ability to turn off the ASS...

Thanks!

It supports all G series vehicles. The version that does this has not been released yet as far as I know since it just came out in Beta the other week.

It includes all G series cars according to BimmerCode. Easiest way to find out if the setting is supported is to go to BimmerCode website on the supported cars section. It will give you all the options available for your car.

Have fun!

Ok thanks, that was fast. He must have rushed that one along since people were clamoring for it.

Trying it tonight and it's there, yay!

The ENET + RJ45 to lightning adapter combination works very fast.

Haven't actually test it out yet but am sure it should work =)

this completely disables ASS with no way to turn it back on unless re-coded? wouldn't it be something if it could be programmed to one of the radio unit buttons?! is this more an annoyance when using the ICE vs electric (for 45e owners)?

I wasn't able to code g05 using Veepeak adapter and bimmercode. It says "Coding of the ECU failed"

I don't believe the Veepeak OBD Check will program everything in Bimmercode. Before I went with the ENET cable, I upgraded my Veepeak to the UniScan UCSI-2000. If I recall correctly, the Veepeak doesn't have enough memory to program everything available with Bimmercode. It will program some modules, but not every module.

Veepeak is not supported for the G series so as mentioned you may get lucky and have something work but not everything.

That one should work on all series of vehicles. Here is the page with the supported adapters.

Yes, the CX does work. I had a Veepeak and it would only code a few things. Bought the CX and was able to code everything on my list.

I love this implementation of ASS… if you are going to take away the button, give the brake control. I feel it adds to the driving experience. [/IMG]
