I built my 2024 X5 PHEV online in Tanzanite Blue with Coffee merino interior with the BMQ all weather mats. I just pulled them out for the first time and found the driver side has velcro on both the car floor and the underside of the mat to hold it in place. The passenger side and rear has velcro on the flooring, but the underside of the mats does not have a matching velcro to hold it down. Is that standard or did they forget the velcro on the passenger and rear mats?

My rears (BMW all weather) came without Velcro, it really pissed me off as within two days they’d been kicked up under the front seats, as you might have easily predicted!

I complained and escalated and have been told no more Velcro going forwards. So I pulled the new rear mats out and put in the old set from my 2019.

The depressions are there for the round velcro patches on the underside, I did wonder if it would be possible to DIY and glue on some velcro. Not got round to it yet since the old set with Velcro are working fine.

Both the driver and front passenger came with Velcro still but it might be old stock working through the supply chain.

Apparently Porsche has done the same on the Cayenne rear mats and it’s irritated their customers too.

Not sure what it’s all about, my multiple BMW’s have had Velcro for years and years so why the change now

I got the BMW all weather mats recently. I don't think it was velcro. It felt like those plastic velcro like pads though. I'll check and report back.

In case people don't know, there are, or at least were, 2 different versions of the all weather mats. One version has taller sides so it would contain moisture/dirt a lot better than the other version which is lower profile.

Those velcro patches can be bought online for around a dollar apiece when I last checked.

Mine came with the mat protection pack, front and rear all weather mats and boot floor protectors. Both front ones stick to the floor by what looks like velcro, the rear seat ones have like a non slip dimpled circle on them that align but does stick to the velcro on the floor. The rear mats have raised sides and can't slip under the front seats.
The boot liner just fits and can't go anywhere.

I think your rears are like mine then, the ‘non-slip’ circle is there there used to be the other half of the Velcro to match the hook part built into the floor.
