40i Xline or Msport?

What do you think will look more impressive in Mineral White Metallic: the Xline with the silver accents or the Msport with the black accents and shadow line trim?
Coffee interior, 20" wheels.

I keep building both vehicles and I wonder if the Msport is too aggressive? I seek a classy look. Both vehicles would be loaded and custom ordered. Thoughts?

I think it's all personal preference, but I'm extremely partial to the m sport.

Personal preference - M Sport

Not a fan of the xLine rear bumper diaper on xLine especially on white - looks better on darker colors

Granted the M Sport has one too but the rear bumper design is more cohesive plus gotta love the color matched wheel arches and sport rocker panels.

The black wheel arches kill the look of the X-Line to me. Especially with a white exterior.

MSport. Hands down.
Xline looks unfinished with wheel arches, front and rear bumper trim, and rocker panels.

I think you'll find the majority of the people want and went with MSport. I know for me it was mandatory. I wanted extended shadow line as well but I was willing to purchase without as that could be changed later. I think the body coloured body panels look much better than the silver accents and I like that it makes the car look mean and aggressive.

In the end you have to walk out to it everyday so your best bet is to see them in person and determine what looks classy for you.

The majority of folks on this forum probably went with msport for sure. I think in general with the average consumer non enthusiast there are more xlines due to cost savings plus it still looks great.

XLine for a more traditional SUV look, MSport for a cleaner more polished look. I'm curious to see the 2023 LCI's.

We went with a Mineral White MSport with Extended Shadow Line and Extended Coffee, on 22s, and have no regrets.

I've got the mineral white X Line here. Ugly duckling on the forum.

If money was no object, the X5M would be my preferred model line, especially the vertical reflectors in the rear.

I don't mind the black plastic cladding around the wheel arches. I think it adds a nice off-road character to it. The X Line front is still impressive too. But at certain angles, the rear looks like a massive unattractive flat slab and to me is the biggest let-down of the X Line. The silver trim on the side skirts also isn't bright enough in my opinion, and the lack of body colour there makes the vehicle look a little on the 'slim' side at certain angles. So... between the 2 if money wasn't a problem I'd go M Sport. I recently posted in another thread that I just couldn't justify US$15k extra that they charge for the M Sport locally.

While some said white doesn't look good on the X Line, I actually prefer the black and white contrasting 'colours' to keep things simple. Phytonic blue is also nice imo, and would go to hide a bit of the black plastic trim a bit more.

I think the xline is great too. I owned a 2011 xline and it always looked amazing. Changing it up this time but I never missed anything as far as styling.

I know I'm very much in the minority here, but for me the X5 is too big for M-Sport styling. I think the scale of the X5 requires those unpainted wheel arches to make it look right. The M-Sport variant looks too non-SUV to me. It's like it's trying to be a sports sedan but is just too big to pull it off, so it ends up looking forced.

Totally subjective of course...

I recently bought with x-line Alpine White.

When I started considering X5 and doing test drive, I liked the matching wheel arches of m package, but couldn't hang of the thick M steering wheel. Just curious what others think about the steering wheel...

Isn't the X-Line steering wheel also quite beefy these days? It's been a long time since I drove one, but I seem to remember there not being much difference between the M and stock wheels.

In any case, in my outgoing X3 M40i I have the M wheel and it felt quite thick at first, but I like that feeling. I got used to it quickly though - just feels normal to me now. If the stock X5 wheel feels thinner I'm sure i will adjust to that in no time also.

Totally a personal preference. I went with the M-sport extended shadowline on my Phytonic Blue 45e. I love the aggressive look of the black grille and accents against the body color.
