X5 5.0i Engine
Has anyone heard how the higher mileage F15 N63TU2 engines are running reliability-wise out there?? Is it as much of an oil hog as the previous N63TU and N63 engines? Still having cooling issues for the turbochargers and seals? Also, is nyone aware of the differences between the F15 N63TU2 engine and the new GO5 N63TU3 engine? Curious as to what changes have been made, especially given BMW's settlement last fall with the N63 engine.

Sorry, I am on duty. Its X5 50i not 5.0.
I monitored my oil consumption on a 2200 mile trip. I started at 250 miles on the odometer and thought I might see a higher oil consumption since I was pounding a lot of miles on a new engine. No unusual oil consumption. In fact, I didnt notice any. |

F15 is N63TU, not "2". Mine has 78,000 miles. Had to put in 2 quarts before last service. Happened one other time early on, but most of the time no additional oil needed to be added. No other major issues. Did need to replace crankcase ventilation hoses (warranty).
