X5MC Tanzanite II Blue with Adelaide Grey

Hey everyone! This is my first post, but I'm an avid reader of the forums.

I took delivery of my 2021 X5MC on Wednesday after a ten month wait from time of order and am just now able to post a few pictures. I had it ceramic coated at the dealership, where it cured for 3 days after signing on the dotted line. Apologies for the low lighting, we are still dealing with a lot of smoke here in Southern Oregon from the California fires (ours are thankfully contained).

I haven't seen the color and trim combo I've chosen posted anywhere, so I figured I'd share in the event anyone was interested in seeing how it looks all together.

I was going to get an X3M, an upgrade to my 2018 X3 M40i...however, one test drive and I was off-put by the terribly harsh ride many of you also noted. I previously owned an M4 and even it rode better than the X3M in my opinion...yikes! While I loved my M40i, it lacked many of the upgrades of the X5 (massage seats, side bolsters, horsepower, etc.), so I ordered an X5MC instead. My significant other has a 2019 X5 xDrive 50i (before the M50i) and I like everything about it except the air ride suspension (too cushy for me) and the steering (I very MUCH prefer the sport steering setting on the X5MC).

One good thing came of the X3M investigation though...I am a big fan of the Adelaide Grey leather, which is why I ordered it in my car. It looks like the color of "wet cement" in person and is a nice change to my past all black interiors. I have always opted for trims that do not shine while driving, as I find them distracting from the inevitable glare that will happen from time to time. While some may think it blasphemous not to get carbon fiber, I absolutely love this new aluminum crosslink trim option; I think it pairs really nicely with the black and Adelaide grey leathers, exterior Tanzanite II Blue paint and B&W speaker covers. To me it looks luxe all together.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy! I'm not a professional photog and took these as I left work yesterday, so please ignore the bits of leaves, etc. on the inside.

Oh and I had absolutely no idea just how loud this car was going to be, but when it cold started in the maintenance bay at delivery...well, the technicians couldn't hear each other when yelling at the top of their lungs! Badass.

That is sweet!! I went for Silverstone interior but Adelaide Grey looks very smart.

Also agree with you on the Aluminium trim - I've always thought they weren't that well done on previous BMWs but it really works in the X5M.

Why did it take 10 months?!

I ordered mine in June and got mine just last week, I figure Hawaii would take the longest.

Anyway, congrats! She is beautiful!

dds007 Thank you!

I originally placed an order in January at the dealership for a 2020 X5MC with all of the same options on my 2021 plus nightvision. It was allocated to production, then removed when COVID shut down the factory. After reopening, the 2020 model year was no longer available, so we resubmitted a 2021 order (without nightvision, since that is no longer an option). However, my dealership had to wait for an allocation (Medford, OR is a small town with fewer M allocations) and then the production process and shipping took some time. I am happy though, the wait was worth it and the delay in delivery helped my business and personal funds recover to a safe spot for a large purchase
