A note about ifr and his contributions to this site
For those of you who are in to coding, you know the contributions ifr has made to this site in sharing his knowledge to allow those of use who are willing and able to explore the capabilities of iDrive.
For those of you who are not willing or able, please stop badgering ifr to share HIS knowledge with us if HE does not want to. This is a free site and ifr volunteers his time and knowledge to it simply because he's a good dude (or she). He is by no way obligated to share what he has with us and you are by no means owed anything by him. I've been around forums such as these long enough to know that it doesn't take much for a few bad apple posters to run off the actual resources the forum has - and that is the posters who actually know what they're doing! So please - stop badgering ifr - if you do not know how to do something, find some other resource to learn how. I'll step off my soap box now - thank you for listening! |

Look Im not being funny, but this a is a community forum and not a paid for service.
If you contact me and don't have the courtesy to say hello, introduce yourself, just ask for the coding, you re not going to get anywhere with me. Maybe its a language barrier, cultural thing, I don't know but it's just plain rude. |

But this is not the main thing either. Perhaps, the difference in time (morning and evening) and national culture is perceived by us differently. Of course, it is accepted to say hello and respect each other in Russian culture. You are right, this is not a business process, but a community of like-minded people. In any case, thank you for your time. I didn't want to upset you with my manners of communication or their absence (in your opinion).... It is interesting to know if this text will be clear in English. Translated with www. |

Your previous single message of 'ready' doesnt wash for me whatever country you come from. Neither do any of the subsequent messages. Good manners cost nothing, neither does respect. I've made the spreadsheet available to you, but please respond on the main thread. |

As far as my understanding of programming is concerned, it is very likely that the RF as well as the Australia you mentioned will be out of the zone. At least at the July I-Step |

If idrive Speed Limit Assistant allows you to select 'consider traffic lights' and there is no error message about the country not being supported, then it's supported. How well the system works when enabled for a specific region varies. It works really well in the UK, not so well in China for example. Make sure you code all the stated land masks, aSLA is coded and set to automatically accept speed limits in idrive. |

Even as a newbie I can honestly testify that ifr is ONE. STAND. UP. DUDE!
He has no earthly reason to help people troubleshoot coding yet he does and if you can't be polite and personable with him while he donates his time for free, find another board to leech off of! I can honestly say I wish he were closer as I'd love to buy him (or her) a pint or ten and pick his/her brain! CHEERS!

Thought I would leave a note after reading a thread that left me impressed. I appreciate Ifr's restraint from publishing coding data that isn't yet thoroughly tested. I think this shows a dedication to the craft/hobby, but also an appreciation for public safety. As someone very new to coding. It takes a lot of reading to build confidence in the coding, but also to understand what is being coded and the potential impact of the coding. Quality reliable information is very much appreciated. Thanks!

Hello, ifr!
Would it be possible for me to participate as a tester for this feature? I have a 2019 G05 X5. The i-step uses 2020-07 E-sysX64 uses 2.4.1.1. We would like to test it in Japan. Please consider it. |

I'm not sure what everyone is referencing in terms of being testers but i having done some research i want to thank IFR for his invaluable contribution. One of the rare resourcing on anything G related, much less G05 online.
Thanks for all the time spent sharing with the community! |
