Well, besides a few incidents where other kids have noticed him missing an ear and holding him down so they could take a better look, I'd say really good! He avoided all the big things that often comes with this and now he's a really annoying five year old who does his best to drive me insane, as he is supposed to be.

He is starting school in the autumn, and since he refuses to wear his hearing aid, I've been trying to find out other ways to make it easier for him to start this new challenge.

According to him he is the worlds fastest biker, best dinosaur catcher and a qualified snake tamer. I am waiting for him to move out, as a mom should.

Kudos to him. Kids can be little monsters, and it takes a lot of power to hold yourself higher than their ignorance at such a young age. I'm glad he's been able to overcome the challenge of those little monsters and continue on enjoying his childhood. Too many kids miss out on the best years of their lives because of other kids around them.

Seems to me like he's got some amazing parents looking after him, and as long as his spirits stay as high as they are and he continues catching dinosaurs, pedaling his little legs away, and wrangling snakes better than Steve Irwin..., he's going to do some amazing things with his life.

Don't say that. The day he moves out, it's going to hit you right in the feels. I'm sure my mother couldn't wait for the day I left, now I barely get to see them more than a couple times a year. Enjoy every day you have with him, you never know what the future holds.

Just preparing myself for what is coming Billup. I want them to have their independence when older so I try to remind myself of that.

I love him to bits. He enjoys his life and when he asks about his ear, I've made sure to give him the truth as the answer. My goal in raising him is that he sees it as a part that makes him uniquely him, not as a flaw that makes him worse than us rest.

Your parents surely know how lucky they are to have a kiddo like you. It's not always the time we have together, parents know when their pups are ready for the world.

You're doing an incredible job. My parents made me learn some things the (very) hard way, but it's only made me a better person. I used to volunteer and read/teach the handicapped kids at the local school, and it really opened my eyes to the real struggles that people have to deal with. I have two arms, two legs, two eyes, etc., so my appreciation for the world as a whole is insurmountable.

One thing that will comfort him, and I'm sure you already know, is that there are people who are WAY off worse, and need help functioning basic tasks just to get through the day. His condition can be very daunting, considering his age, but since he is going through it on a personal level, I know he is going to have an incredible amount of appreciation for life with every year that passes.

Keep doing what you're doing. I know things will fade out around here and we will all move on to different things, but always know that you and your family are always going to be in my heart and I know nothing but the best will happen for all of you.

That is a funny thing about us people, we always compare our lives with others and then we realize how good we have it.

Your parents are wise. Our wish the kids will never see no harm is often harming them more. My dad did this too.

I couldn't be happier with the little menace but I admit him now again sleeping on the floor because of a dinosaur broke his bed is both funny and also a good way to see how his mind works. He has to pay for his next one too, so he's doing the filling and emptying dishwasher and as well as watering all plants outside. He hired his brother to help him by promising the tiny kid that when he gets caught next time doing something wrong, he will lend his dinosaur for the role of the fall guy. When he gets older and if he has not learned that actions have consequences, he'll be an engineer or a cat tamer.

Meh, I doubt we will vanish altogether, I think Billup that in this fucked up bitworld we've made real friends out of each other.

Oh, tue hubby would probably gladly donate me to anyone. Hell, I'd donate him too most days.

I did not either. More of a funding issue for me. Girl who asked me out as super sweetheart. When I needed money, she was nice enough to buy my used TI-82 for $60.
