Angry why can't people put their shopping carts back

I just don't understand it. My store is right next to a Food Lion and I have to go out at least twice a day to keep a freaking shopping cart from hitting my car. I mean is it that damn hard to put the shopping cart in the little cart rack?

People are morons. My business is right next to a shopping center and there are at least two carts in front of my place every day, since they roll down the hill.

Well, screw them. I don't return them. I throw them further down the hill into the woods. As far as I'm concerned, the shopping center is at fault for not having cart returns in the parking lot, and for not having a curb to stop them from rolling on to the street and down the hill, and eventually right in front of my place.

All the garbage from the shopping center blows down the hill, too. The neighborhood looks like a god-damned dump.

Here in Germany you have to pay to take a shopping cart. You deposit €0.50 or €1 into the slot on the handle to unlock the cart and you get it back only when you return the cart to a collection area.
I guess that's one solution to rogue carts, but would it catch on in the US?? Maybe not..

Same here in the US. Some supermarkets have them. We have to deposit a quarter, $0.25. But most of the carts have the slot broken. You can just take the cart without a deposit.

Ha ha. Kinda defeats the purpose if it's broken. Although sometimes I have to admit that it's a real pain. Mainly when I'm shopping on a whim and don't have the right change.

when the cart return is close by, i'll put it back...otherwise i usually park it on a curb with at least 2 wheels stuck on the curb...so at least it doesn't roll into someone's car...gotta keep the cart karama gods happy
