Bimmertech Audio Upgrades

I placed an order over the past weekend for the Bimmertech amp and speaker upgrade kit.

I just received a call from Bimmertech...
Apparently they have run out of the PP86DSP amp and are awaiting more to be produced or shipped to them due to semiconductor shortages. He said they've been working with audiotech fischer to use their Match 7 amp as well.
He said Good news/Bad news. My order hasn't been fulfilled or even shipped yet, however, I'm being upgraded to their new version of the Match 7 amp that is much more powerful than the PP86DSP that I paid for. His example "The PP86DSP amp pushes 70 watts rms to each underseat sub and 140 watts peak. The new Match 7 we're sending you pushes 160 watts rms and even more peak power to those same underseat subs.

He did go on to say that they are planning to sell 2 levels of audio upgrade kits in the future. Level 1 with the PP86DSP amp and Level 2 with the Match 7 amp for a higher price.

Hello, I have PP86DSP, are you going to install it to the X5? Can we do that? I used it for my 120i ~1 year, and as I understood we can not install to to X5 anymore.

I would contact Bimmertech and see if they will sell you the harness to plug that straight into the X5.

So bummer tech is now selling match up amps?

Yes. The amp I installed in my X5 today is their new Match Up 7bmw.

Yes came with the harness and tuned to the music I selected when ordering it.
If I'm not mistaken they won't sell the amp alone and will sell the entire kit, speakers and amp together. That's what I bought.

Installation is as easy as the videos make it out to be.

Sweet.. it looks like a huge upgrade. Just one more question. I thought you said they gave you the UPBMW7 and not the pp86dsp?

That's what they claim they sent me.
Their new match up 7 amp.
I didn't look for anything on it for designation or verification of which amp it is. I did notice it has been rebranded re-stickered with BimmerTech.
I was so excited to get everything installed I didn't think they would send me the amp they called me and said they don't have anymore and asked if I was ok accepting their upgraded match up 7.?!
Now you got me wondering if they sent me the pp86dsp.

Now you got me wondering if they sent me the pp86dsp.

Look at the pictures a added you can see the difference between the match up 7 and pp86dsp/bimmer tech amp. This can help you to know the difference. The match up has 1 output. While the pp86dsp has two mono outputs

Well darn! I was going to purchase mine this last week and noticed they were out of stock. I hope they'll be back in stock shortly as I want to get them installed before I go on a cross-country trip.

Makes me wonder which version of amp I want if they are going to have 2 now.

How does the Match version sound?

Match amp sounds amazing. It's more powerful than the other amp that they sold out of.
Definitely recommended upgrade for stock basic hi-fi.
